Fitted timetables

Just wondering what peoples thoughts on this are, the idea of fitting the timetables of different bus routes so they provide a joint frequency on common sections of the route.

Personally, it annoys me. As NX seem to have a tendency to do it with routes that are completely different. For example, the 33/51... Yes as far as Perry Barr they are the same, bit beyond they are completely different, and I'd say the 51 carries more people and as such deserves to be more frequent, especially of an evening and Sunday. Yes you can say the 51 has the 952 and X51 to help, but the 33 has even more routes to help it out. Also, the 907/952, similar problem I'd say the 907 needs to be more frequent than the 952.

Yes, sometimes they do get it right, such as the 61/63 Bristol Road at the moment.
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Irritating to say the least.

For instance on the BR the 63 should be every 7 minutes and the 61 every 12. Doesn't matter about the frequency of the corridor in my opinion as people just get the first one that comes, but thats my opinion as I see routes as individuals and then share the same main road.

Take the 98/99...... pointless idea as after the Q.E. they're totally different and they're not even on the same running card.

One good thing is that buses from Halesowen to Dudley are roughly every 30 minutes on a Sunday, with the 241 departing at 15 past and the 244 at 46 past; however, going from Dudley to Halesowen, if you miss the 241 which departs on the hour, you have only 15 minutes to wait for the 244, but 45 minutes between the 244 and 241!

The 907 & 952 were both previously every 15 minutes. They've always had same/similar frequencies (daytime), even when they were the 107 & 52 respectively
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

It's been that way as long as I can remember. Before the Sandwell Network Review. The 402 was every 10 then 20 minutes to Tipton with the 401 filling in the gaps with an every 30 minutes creating an every 10 minute frequency between Great Bridge to West Bromwich

As far as I remember, the 107 used to be every 15 minutes while the 52 was every 12 minutes
