POG557Y

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum, so I don't know if I'm posting in the right place here.

I own ex-West Midlands Metrobus POG557Y (2557) and will be putting it through preservation restoring it to the 1995 WM Buses era.

Now, one thing I struggle to find are old pictures of this bus when with West Midlands Travel. She left in 2001 and headed to the North East to Kingsley Coaches.

I know that there are a few pictures on Flickr, but 2557 (according to most) was a pretty rare bus to grab a picture of, don't ask me why!

Any help finding pictures would be great!

Best regards,
Robson (www.facebook.com/pog557y)

Oh hi there Robson, how did you find us? ;)

Gareth

Welcome Robson, nice to see you here too!

Could you possibly give details at which depots 2557 was allocated. Was it new to Cotteridge or Selly Oak? I know a number of the metrobuses around that fleet number were.

It was new to Selly Oak (2551-2560 were Selly Oak, 2561-2570 were Cotteridge). A large portion of the 25xx batch ended up at LS (BC) as Coventry Road, Cotteridge and Selly Oak closed but after that they became dispersed far and wide. No doubt Mr POG557Y himself can provide full details of the garage history. Great to see this being preserved.

Correct, Mike!

So, the history of 2557:

New to Selly Oak in 1982
Transferred to Liverpool Street (BC) on 02/08/1986 upon Selly Oak closure.
Transferred to Walsall (WA) in December 1990
Withdrawn May 2001
SOLD to Kingsley's Coaches as bus 223 in May 2001.
SOLD for Preservation July 2012
