Why would you want to get anybody in trouble.

If I could change any bus service, I would change the Whitmore Reans service in Wolverhampton.  Since NX came of the 5 the part of Whitmore Reans that the 5 route used to serve has hardly any buses even though it is an area buses should do well. I would reroute the 32 and 33 to serve Dunstall Road & Gorsebrook Road before rejoining there original route, don't thing this reroute would add hardly anything onto the running time of the service.

I think franchising could work, it is starting to work in Manchester, I unlike many on here do not like NXWM. I understand that footfall on many routes is down but don't like how they blackmail the mayor into giving them money.
I know a few people who used the Commuter Services into London they where axed with hardly any notice, a least one had to give up there job in London,  the difference between the prices of a coach & train ticket was so great, it meant they where spending nearly as much on travel as they where earning. Not a good way to treat anyone.

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on July 18, 2024, 01:25:01 AMJust an idea Wolves College and the Uni share a partnership or used to so ie ideally students of say Bussiness at the College would move to the University when they finished, grades depending, now granted the College is set to move from Paget Road but at this current time I do believe that is delayed.

There is a Uni Campus near to Compton Park so maybe they could partner with the College joint funding to get College students to Paget Road and even Bilston and Students to Walsall and Compton. It would provide another way for Students at the College to get there without being late as happened to me rarely because the 1 was excessively full of school kids and then the Traffic was horrendous. The 10 also gets rammed although I now do believe that journey has a Double Decker on it now and again Traffic is horrendous. So maybe it doesn't need to be public maybe just Student Transport To the City College and Uni as well as Walsall and Telford campus. But only for Students at one of them no School Kids. If that doesn't work then Public Service. I believe the Veichles have Pushchair and Wheelchair spaces.

Another Idea maybe get the City Council to fund them or get another Operator to help operate them maybe NX as the Uni Bus follows most of the 529 and 51/X51 Route maybe someone else.

And random point where are the Veichles maintained or kept and do the Drivers work for the Uni or are they like agency drivers
The uni campus at a Compton went years ago, now a school & houseing

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on May 15, 2024, 01:37:52 AMNot really sure why he seems to think Buses mostly by NX don't serve Schools, Colleges or hospitals NX always has a route that serves or goes near. The public do have or used to have a say on services. NX did consultations. If he wants the network to be improved first get rid or cowboy operators like Let's go from my experience and others. NX do a great job it ay perfect but It is brilliant. Some people don't have last Buses at between 10PM and 2AM or even 24hr like some routes they have a last bus between 3/5PM and 7/9PM
No they don't New Cross hospital has a very basic service through the hospital with a very confusing route, buses going to Walsall follow a different route than the buses going into Wolverhampton, the frequency is only every 30 mins. The 59 is a very frequent service but quite a long walk from the bus stops, especially if you have mobility issues.

Quote from: Tony on December 17, 2023, 08:32:53 AMSo which bit of Metro are you blaming Andy Street for?

Everything currently being built was planned more than 6 years ago when he bacame Mayor
Andy Street signed of the Wednesbury Dudley link when it could have easily have been a busway, wasted millions on rapid bus transit, which is no nearer to being operational than the day they started it.

I have always thought public transport should be there to provide a service not to make money, especially in the climate we live in now, somehow we have to stop people obsession with the car.
I don't like Andy Street never have, he has killed Birmingham with his obsession with his bet project the metro.  instead of wasting all the money on closing roads like Corporation Street, it would have been better to have built a busway like in Luton, buses then could have entered & exited the busway using normal roads saving millions
My prediction for 2024 is he is massively beaten & the West Midlands area can move on better & stronger.

Quote from: Tony on December 09, 2023, 09:14:08 PMDon't know whether you've noticed, but franchising actually provides a better return for shareholders at the moment!
Wish we could bring WMPTE back Tony but I accept that is expecting to much

Labour win the metro mayor for the West Midlands & franchise the bus & trains, public transport should be there to provide a service not for shareholders.

If I could bring back any route it would be the 962 Birmingham to Chelmsley Wood via the Collector Road, never understood why it was withdrawn many people want a fast link to brum. All the others routes get delayed in traffic making the journey twice as long as it should be. If I remember the buses where always well used with many people waiting especially for the 962.

Quote from: jasmine on October 25, 2023, 01:03:16 AM934/5/6/7 is honestly quite confusing, but that's because I wasn't aware of the 9XX system from days past. but even now in 2023 that whole set of routes is confusing. nxwm were right when they said 2 digit numbers were easily rememberable.
What confusing about them should have been around when all the bus services where 3 digits my routes where the 500/01/10

If I could bring back any route back it would be the 54 Stafford-Penkridge-Wolverhampton changing the route a little so it goes into the Prison, there isn't a link anymore, I know for a fact people struggle to get to Rodbaston Collage & the prison especially when the trains are down
