Quote from: Jack D on June 24, 2025, 08:59:28 PMHave they started building the new bus depot next to Yardley RFC on Cole hall lane? There's groundworks going on on the site?
Are we sure its going to be a bus depot because if it is then its gonna be handy for me as it would make getting to work easier haha

Quote from: Ingleboro261F on May 29, 2025, 06:27:39 AM6997 BC - AG seen on the 11C this morning, so now all 19 plate PB e400mmcs are now at Acocks Green
Shame really because I enjoyed driving 6995 having said that 6997 was a bit more problematic as last time I drove it on the X2 I ended up taking it back to garage from the wheatsheaf with electrical issues to be swapped out with 6995

I would have suggested BC in the Adderley street bus park but then us drivers would have to find alternative places to park our cars but I highly doubt BC management would allow it

Quote from: Ingleboro261F on March 21, 2025, 07:10:27 PMAlways wondered, what causes that humming sound when the bus pulls away on the 19 plate E400mmcs. As an example 7503 when it moves off after stop start it makes a characteristic humm noise which continues throughout the journey.
If it's a high pitched hum it's the power steering pump as its electric over hydraulic 6857 onwards at BC are like this and trust me as a driver it's annoying to listen too all day haha

Quote from: TGZac on February 18, 2025, 09:14:19 PMLol it was a typo and I should hire a proof-reader, but the cause is just speculation and we should wait for an official source to confirm

I would hazard a guess and say it could have been an oil leak that has sprayed onto the exhaust system which is the engine was doing a regen at the time the exhaust would have been in excess of 600°C but it could have been anything and judging from videos and pictures I have seen the fire seemed to originate from the engine bay

Quote from: Ronnoc on January 28, 2025, 01:40:41 PMSaw a few UID E400s going down Stratford Road (by Highgate Road) at around 11ish, were they deadrunning to Solihull?
I wouldn't have thought so as our dead routes to solihull from BC garage tend to run up the A45, however if there was an issue on the A45 then drivers may have been told to use an alternative route but it's usually given to us as to what roads we can use as its already been checked that a 14'6" vehicle can get down the road to prevent bridge strikes and the like.

Quote from: Stu on December 31, 2024, 06:02:50 PMBeen on a few different buses recently where the NSA system wasn't working, with 6912 being the latest one this evening, on the 2 to Maypole.

It appears that the system has 'crashed' shortly after startup, because the time is frozen, in the case of 6912 just now it was stuck at 06:14 while displaying the date and version number.

The time is about correct for when the bus was first powered up this morning, before starting the day doing the 06:31 journey on the 3 to Birmingham.

I usually find that if it happens on a vehicle I'm driving when I get to my outer terminus I usually isolate it and leave it a few minutes before I turn the bus back on. However some are stubborn and refuse to reboot until randomly I will be driving along then all of a sudden I will hear "X12 to Birmingham"

Quote from: MasterPlan on November 06, 2024, 07:49:48 AMBoth electrics going out of City this morning showing X21 University for QE Hospital instead of Bartley Green. Is it just that they didn't have the Uni destination programmed before?
The uni blinds will be there in the destination controller as its just a file from a computer. There are some uni boards that turn short at the uni in peak times to help the hospital workers

6856 - Had this little gem on the X12 earlier this morning, yeah in typical ADL fashion there was a bit of rattling coming from the cab area but she had a decent turn of pace when needed

7529 - completely different kettle of fish, yeah she could get a shift on when needed. Usual rattles and squeaks from the cab but the doors seemed to take an age to open and close

Quote from: Justin Tyme on December 26, 2023, 11:10:04 AMGood to see 4393 out on the 49 this Boxing Day morning.

I presume YW drivers still like Tridents? There are others out as well today.
As drivers we get allocated a vehicle so there is no choice as such it's whatever is allocated to even out the mileage.

Most likely instructed by garage to run out of service to somewhere further along the route to pick time back up at a timing point or driver might have been running close to his driving hours so instructed to run to his relief point, I can only assume these are the possible cases from a drivers perspective

Quote from: spacecowboy150 on November 11, 2023, 08:01:36 PMWhat revs are the BX13s limited to before changing gear?
Some change about 1900RPM and some change at about 1700RPM I wouldn't say they are "limited" to any RPM just what the gearbox software decides is necessary for the load being put through it
