Hello everyone,

Not sure if there is any Class 60 fans here but Colas Rail have bought all 20 of the Class 60's that DB Schenker have listed for sale last year. 60087 is going to be one of the first locomotives to enter service which shouldn't be long now that load tests at Toton are being done. Its expected that 60087 should be back on the mainline at the end on the month.

Here is a mock up of the livery that the Colas Rail Class 60's may look like.

Here is the list of all 20 Class 60's that Colas have bought:
60002
60013
60021
60026
60028
60029
60033
60038
60041
60046
60047
60048
60055
60056
60061
60076
60085
60087
60095
60096

Not sure if these locomotives will be operating in the West Midlands (could be possible on the Washwood Heath - Boston Docks diagram which is usually Class 47/56 operated)

Here is a video of 5 of the Class 60's being collected by Colas Rail from Crewe

and also spotted at Stoke-On-Trent (below)

I am really pleased about this news and I hope that more Class 60's will return to the tracks soon rather than sitting around rotting away at Toton :).

I was down in London over the weekend and I had the pleasure of riding one to Euston from St Pancra's. Very charismatic inside if you ask me and they have proper bench-type seats rather than the bucket seats which dominate most buses nowadays. I like them to be honest and the dual staircases make these buses unusual on the inside.
