Do you know if 40524 is being repainted into brighter diamond, getting maintenance done or it's just a mistrack
The plan will be to livery all the 11 plate E400's at some point.

Quote from: Jay71 on May 10, 2025, 10:53:39 AM30927. Some windows on this bus have been screwed shut. Summer will soon be here. Any chance of getting these windows fixed?
I am not sure why this is the case.  I have just asked the EM.

As a way of update.  We have 3 of the Custom Denning Buses now registered in Burton.

Once they have been inspected - they will be entering service.

Quote from: Seal on May 07, 2025, 08:54:10 AMHi Simon,

I noticed that Diamond North West now has a Mellor Strata that has come from Preston Bus. Is this the only one that is coming down, and is it permanent?

On the topic of Diamond North West, could you provide any update on the running of the 356 and when it's High Grove diversion will end, as this road was served well by the previous company. Also, is there a set date that all your vehicles have to be painted and refurbished by, for example the Preston Mellor strata?

In general, I have noticed that in many of your divisions have gone to more ADL products instead of wright, was changing manufacturer preference due to the streetlite ending production meaning their only EU6 option was the hawk, which isn't widely in the UK?

TIA for your response
Following the sale of 11 Streetlites in Preston, we have reorganised the fleet and short term 2 Mellors have been put into Eccles as short term vehicles.

These vehicles are there whilst we await 2 new in July, but overall we are due to receive 4 as part of the RV mechanism from Stagecoach.

Until we have this compliment of vehicles, the 356 will be diverted.

Quote from: Jay71 on May 06, 2025, 08:35:21 AMLast night. The 2010  42 from West Brom to Tipton
I have looked at the trip you refer to.  The trip concerned as you say operated a 16a before and was late as a result of congestion.  Before operating the 42 he was supposed to take a legal rest period.  The late operation meant that he failed to take his break and this journey was lost a result.

Looking at the event now with the benefit of hindsight, this journey should have operated with a delay.  There is sufficient stand time on the next two journeys for him to make time up.  I have discussed this with the Supervisor on duty.

I am sorry if you were waiting for this journey.

Quote from: Buslad02 on May 05, 2025, 09:00:48 PMJust out of curiosity, what's the reason for the switch from Wrightbus to ADL recently for new vehicles? I take it will be down to ADL still having a large diesel option available to buy at dealer stock?
We have reduced the number of vehicles we have overall.  We have decided to sell some of the earlier Euro 6 vehicles to buy new.  ADL have stock of Euro 6 / Wrights don't.

Quote from: Jay71 on May 05, 2025, 08:42:30 PM40819 Tonight this bus was the 1900 16a from Digbeth to WB. Bus arrived at WB fifteen. Then it turns into the 2010  42.
Was the this service cancelled because the driver had to have a legal break?
Was what cancelled?

Could you find out why 30923 didn't complete the 22:35 32 service to Walsall turned up at Lower Farm and just went Not in Service with no explanation
I am advised that the bus had to return to the depot following someone vomiting on the vehicle.

Hope its OK to ask this question. I see from your comments re Electric buses for Burton that " this commitment means that we have also invested in new infrastructure at our Burton depot to support the operation of electric buses moving forward."

Successful bid delivers more green buses - Staffordshire County Council Newsroom

Does that mean Burton will have an electric substation or equivalent that allows for future electric buses to arrive without the need for further work on the local grid. i.e that Burton would have the potential to go full (or more) electric without any further grid upgrades? I ask in the assumption that any further upgrades to the power supply could add extra delay and expense whenever it was to happen.
We have placed an order for the installation of a sub station.   This should be complete during October/November.  We believe this will allow Burton to go full electric.

We are working with Staffordshire on this project.  We are adhering to their procurement rules and together  we have a tender pending for the installation of 15 charging points. For the whole fleet to be electrified we will need more charging points.
