Saw 4587 going down Stafford Rd by 5 ways this morning being driven by an engineer displaying '59-Ashmore Park'

I have no idea why it was displaying that?

Any ideas for times around 1:30 ish?

4017 worked the extra 54 this afternoon.


It appears one of the 6 running boards includes a 54 trip in the morning.

Also 3/07 appears to be allocated a Spectra during the half term hence why 4017 and 4004 have appeared on the 3. Will most likely be a Spectra tomorrow too.

Probably old gen now but the first 54 off Bilbrook is a 6 branded Volvo, see it most mornings.

1037 was in attendance so probably so although there was a Fleetline parked next to 1037

4413 is not a Fleetline although looks like one, it's a Bristol VR with MCW bodywork.

Late gen but noteworthy , 6 branded 2074 made a rare foray onto the 529 last night, around 2210 into Wolvo. must have been a swop out as I saw it running empty Pendeford to PL just after 6pm.

Do the engines took out go for rebuild? Would assume there is a programme of rebuild/replacement dependant on hours run? Or is it as and when needed ?

Indeed there are 2 spectra on the 3, I had to double take as well!  4005 is the other one.

Saw a 3E to Wobaston this afternoon (A destination i have never seen displayed) due to a car/Pedestrian collision on the Stafford Rd (Vine Island) this morning

I've seen a 3E twice recently, both times it was in front of a normal 3, and heading towards Wolvo, but went round the Roundabout at Bushbury Lane (by the boarded up Island House pub) and back up the Stafford Road towards Fordhouses. Struck me as somewhat useless to man nor beast!

And after Queen Square is reopened, Victoria St will then be plagued with weeks of Roadworks (Sewr Repairs again?) causing more diversions and disruption

Assume so as the sewer in question runs down from Queen Square into Victoria Street and is somewhat kaput.

Centro and NXWM have recently posted the diversions.

According to the Express and Star, the works in Queen Square will take until 9 March and will be followed by 4 weeks of works in Victoria Street.

Merc 1662 was seen heading back to PL this afternoon with a man in orange behind the wheel and the front of the bus seemed to be riding very high almost bouncing along. 81 was in the dest box so must have been taken off to a suspension fault.

4006, I thought double deckers were banned off the 6 due to a Weight Restriction on a bridge along the route?

The only bridge on the route it can be is Barnhurst Lane over the Wolves - Salop line, and that is a weak bridge with 7.5ton MGW restriction "Except Authorised Vehicles"
