Why does west brom do the x8 in the morning. Plus how would it work eg does the drivers on specific rotas/route need to do it or just a free for all whoever gets picked.

But I also want to know what other routes would require prior driving experience? Like x1
Quote from: BusDriverBosh on November 25, 2024, 06:29:47 PMBack in day, it used to be the Pershore Road rota and the Cranes Park rota. Now, it is whatever there's a need. When I rejoined in 2022, I was placed onto the Bromford rota as there wasn't enough drivers on there. Thanks for the explanation, i never knew it would be like that but what routes would require 2 or more years experience!
When the 14 rejoined BC when the X14 went back, a lot of the new starter drivers were placed onto that rota as we were short on drivers.
There was a time where certain rotas were sacred, like the Coventry rota (X1/X2) as only old timers or anyone with over 2 years of service could get on it.
Quote from: GoldenSquid on August 24, 2023, 09:53:12 PMAs far as I know Bromford Rota used to beSo x2 drivers do the x12 and x13. And how does it work quite interesting
60/X12/X13
then
X12/X13/X14
and will be
X2/X12/X13
Quote from: Stu on November 19, 2024, 06:56:22 PMOne logical reason is so they can be used on any other route. I recall one reason given for the X1/X2 branding being removed was because those vehicles were racking up a lot of mileage compared to others of the same age. By rotating the fleet like this, it keeps things 'balanced'.I thought it was the end of branding but enough said keeping the entire platinum fleet balanced seems a great idea more like a free for all.
I guess you can't keep everyone happy - there are those that complain when branded vehicles appear on other routes, then others complain when the branding gets removed so they can go on other routes!
I still think any replacement of BC garage is another couple of years off, and if they are both electric-ready, it takes time to get new buses ordered and built.
