In 1996 I remember fleet numbers being very close together as national 1505 1507 would carry it in 1996 the same numbers 1501-1514 brand new gas buses in 1997.

Metroriders carrying 6xx numbers in 1998 then brand new Volvo B6s carrying 6xx numbers in 1999.

Don't think fleet numbers have ever been that close in time since.

Quote from: JosephR on April 24, 2025, 10:02:32 PMStrange how the new '998' isn't an 'X98'. all '9**' moved on to 'X' when the opportunity came.
77 77A also rerouted to Serve Dafodill road then follow 935 route to Kingstanding Circle. Then rough road to normal line of route.

Back in the 00s when low floor deckers Trident/presidents came out. If they saw a new bus behind they'd wait for it then a metrobus.

I was on an 904 metro nicely lightly loaded while passengers were hanging back for a new president very busy on 902.

Scrolling was used across all garages 5 years ago I liked static a lot better.
More useful for Passengers featuring all via points.

The 6 was single deck due to using Hardwick Road low trees diversion is now Rosemary hill Road little Aston lane.

Quote from: PB50 on January 06, 2025, 02:53:31 PMI wouldn't have thought that was the only reason because they only use up to 4 buses on the 6 service.
The 6 actually has 8 running boards plus several 10 boards also have 6 workings on it.

On Saturday there are 2 6 boards plus a 78 board.

Quote from: PB50 on January 06, 2025, 08:23:31 AMUnusual to see 5 double decker buses on the 29 service this morning
Temporary allocation while the 6 has single deckers due to diversion.

Also 4599/4628 on 31/32.

Quote from: GoldenSquid on December 24, 2024, 04:07:59 AMSince Coventry took over the working of the X1 dead millage has been reduced to near 0.

The twilight (overnight duty) does the 00:04 from Coventry then the short journeys and returns as the 3am (4am on Sundays) back to Coventry.

The only dead millage is the 2 services that start from Birmingham Airport in the evening peaks (14:56 and 16:07 iirc) and coming back when the 23:45 service terminates at Birmingham Airport. The morning peak services (07:00/20) are ran by BC.

Obviously there has been a lot of dead millage over Sunday and football match days but that's just to readjust the service and regulate it so there isn't a large gap. But BC used to do this a lot with the X1 and still do with other routes.
Coventry only lost the 900/X1 back In 2000 due to severe driver shortage. Coventry was the most suitable place to run it. It passed to Acocks Green 4 boards October 1999 then the remaining 5 September 2000. AG would pass 900 to Walsall October 2001 due to driver shortage. highest drad mileage then Coventry to Walsall.
