Quote from: Tony on April 06, 2023, 06:32:59 PMBreaking the no advance news rule, but 4587's MoT expires on the 13th April, so the next 7 days will be anyone's last chance to catch it out and about

That was a week ago, so has the vehicle now been retired from service?

Feels like the doomsday clock is running down fast for the ALX and Gemini fleets.

Yes, 4718 et al, I had thought that, but wondered if there's a push to replace/ retire at or as close to 15 years of age as feasible, which would render these vulnerable.

Can it be confirmed what the lowest numbered/ oldest saloon and double-deck vehicles are that will be eligible for repainting in glorious grey?  I'm guessing the Scanias of both flavours won't be, and nothing with a life expectancy under five years?

Quote from: Westy on February 01, 2023, 07:03:18 AMYou have to wonder why some drivers bother!

Take today's driver of 6769 on the 529 for instance.

Whether this is still a Nx requirement,  or whether he's doing it for himself,  before letting passengers on, he's generally tidying the vehicle, including opening all the windows to let air through.

Within 5 minutes, at least 2 downstairs windows were shut, presumably because the passengers concerned were cold!

So no one gives a 4x about Covid then?

The thing is endemic now, and everyone has either been jabbed, had a bout of it and developed natural immunity, or declined to take the shots; so as a society we have to get back to normal.  If people so desire they can take other precautions for themselves, and a minority still do, but really speaking, keeping cosy on public transport in winter is probably rather popular to be honest!

Quote from: don on January 16, 2023, 09:21:24 PMCouldn't they use Tyburn Road, right to Wheelwright Road, left to Bromford Lane, left to Tyburn Road?

I didn't think they came from the Spaghetti Junction end to reach Tyburn/ Bromford.  I assumed the route went up Bromford Lane itself, or Wingfoot Way/ Holly Lane.

Quote from: the trainbasher on January 15, 2023, 04:27:46 PMI noticed in my collection of timetables a service 911 (NXWM Perry Barr) which ran from the Fort Shopping Centre to Bromford Lane/Tyburn Road. Does anyone know what it did to turn around at the Tyburn Road end?

Route was circa 2002.

I seem to recall the odd trio 3125/6/8 loitering around the Fort when I worked at Metro-Cammell (well, Alstom) around this time, presumably on this service.  Looking at the map, I understand the root of your question - there's no natural turning head in the vicinity of the old Navigation pub (probably the China Buffet at the time).

BC 6845 did two round-trips to Sutton yesterday morning on the X14, is that a normal BC duty?

Wow!  This is a proper cull.

By my quick calculation there are 91 Tridents and 91 Gemini remaining.

Quote from: Tony on December 19, 2022, 06:55:31 PMTomorrow is probably the last day to catch 1908 in service. It will be on the YW3 from 07:12 until 14:33 when it will do a journey on the 2 at 14:38

I know I'm being daft here, but 1908?
