The most obvious reason for yellow in Manchester is that it matches the colour already in use on the trams, tickets and general TfGM branding. The reason most people think the NX livery looks poor is that it is such a dull, uninspiring and unwelcoming grey they have chosen. Contrast to Manchester, London, Belfast, and now Bristol who all use a single colour yes, but they use a bright, more inspiring and encouraging colour.

Love how people are going on the defensive for NX (with incorrect facts being posted) whilst completely missing the point that was originally being made regarding Carolean...  If you want some irony, Non euro 6 4567 is currently on the 50, let's hope TfWM and BCC have given permission!

Quote from: Stu on October 12, 2024, 07:42:04 PMNXWM haven't been withdrawing Euro6 vehicles, apart from those badly damaged in fires or RTAs.

No, just the Euro 6 B7RLEs in the training fleet, the Omnilinks at Pensnett, the Omnicities, 4800-4829, and the Euro 6 Tridents that have been sold off through Birmingham Busworks! For comparison, how many Euro 6 buses have Carolean withdrawn?

Quote from: Stu on October 12, 2024, 05:55:12 PMI hope they've notified TfWM about this, as the contract specifies Euro6 vehicles! As far as I am aware, these Urbans were never upgraded so are still Euro3.

Every bus in the TfWM area should be Euro 6, but that hasn't stopped NXWM withdrawing Euro 6 buses and keeping Euro 3 on the road.

Will the 48** series from Perry Barr be pooled in with the 49**s on the 1 or is another route planned to be upgraded, do we know?

It helps when you don't spam the wrong threads with pointless crap, and keep it on point.

Meanwhile in the West Midlands we have 22 year old vehicles like 4393 being used on late boards even on a Sunday.

Quote from: PhageyMcPhage on June 19, 2024, 11:45:59 AMGov clean air zone check shows them as no charge which must mean they're Euro 6.

Says who? All that says is they are exempt from any charges in Clean Air Zones, like many other non Euro 6 vehicles are.

Yes I'm sure the average speed of the X1 is 12mph... More nonsense from one of Jeremy Vine's minions... We all know cyclists cause nothing but hazards and delays for buses, lorries and pedestrians. To this day I've not met one who could actually tell me what either Highway Code rules 64 or 71 say, let alone follow them! When you look at the amount of money wasted on these cycle routes which just sit empty, while they still use the road, and the absolute deathtraps waiting to happen that are "floating bus stops", over investing in dedicated busways, faster priority, bus gates and proper public transport interchanges, it's laughable and no wonder we are in this mess.

Quote from: Tony on April 23, 2024, 04:21:07 PMYardley Wood generally lose around 0.5% of mileage due to engineering (breakdowns or No bus available) below the industry average. DVSA expect a minimum of 99% to run
It would be interesting to know the figures specifically for the 49 and 76, as these are the routes the OP mentioned. Yesterday morning according to the tracking there were 3 buses missing on the 76. I know myself from waiting that the 11:26 journey from Q.E. failed to operate. I am also informed that 4609 was broken down at West Heath island earlier tonight.

Yes as I choose not to fill this forum with rubbish! The point is, a customer focussed company like Diamond WM would not block somebody without good reason, they are not a cowboy builder on trustpilot.

Having the 002 terminate at Weoley Castle doesn't do it any favours, there aren't many routes left that customers can connect with there than say somewhere like Northfield which has connections going all over. TfWM's Cashpoint is ready to pay out, lets just hope the plan doesn't backfire and the cash doesn't end up going to Rugby by mistake, Miller St will be needing a broadband speed boost!

That's what went out for tender. What actually happens is yet to be confirmed.
