National Express Coventry / Re: Coventry Garage

Would NXC consider donating the last blue non electric bus (presumably a single decker) to the Coventry
transport museum like their predecessor did in 1979 with the last open platform bus ? (anyone remember
Daimler CVG6 333Y - 333CRW ?)

If vehicles are running light from Rugby to Birmingham I don't no why Stagecoach can't run a few as limited stop services from Rugby to Birmingham perhaps via Coventry. I seem to remember many years ago stagecoach ran a limited stop X42 from Northampton to Birmingham via Coventry with very cheap fares within the West Midlands county presumably in competition with what then was West Midlands Travel who used delightful and fast dual purpose (coach seated) Metrobuses on the 900 Coventry - Birmingham

it is a bit of a slog particularly if loaded with bags of groceries otherwise I would. I wish NXC would give consideration to
extending route 16 from Keresley to/from Bedworth via Ash Green and Goodyers End Lane.

According to Bustimes, Route 16 is Coventry city centre or Coventry - Keresley village. This implies that
destinations displaying Coventry or the absurd via Coventry are not destined for or going through the city
centre, so where are they going ?

Stagecoach seem to have postponed the increase in the Coventry daysaver (was due to go up from £4.00 to £4.20
on Dec 4th). However single fare increase has gone ahead, for instance I was charged £4.20 SINGLE from Nuneaton
bus station to Smorrall Lane (Bedworth) and £3.30 SINGLE George Eliot Hospital to Bedworth town Centre.

Has anyone any knowledge as to what Stagecoach is proposing when the Coventry bus network
goes 100% electric as it runs a number of services into the city from Nuneaton, Rugby and
Kenilworth/Leamington Spa.

Apparantly the Stagecoach Coventry daysaver ( Adult £4) is now valid as far as Nuneaton - no doubt
prompted by loss of market share to National Express Coventry

it was "City Centre"  or "via City Centre" for many years up to 2019. Prior to that "City" or "via City" - either
preferable to the absurd "via Coventry". This seems to be a Transport for West Midlands thing that also applies to the printed timetables and at bus shelter timetables.

Two 67's on Chester Road outside Castle Vale both apparently going to 'Birmingham via Tyburn Road". Problem, one was outbound the other inbound. In any event as far as I understand the route is never outside Birmingham so how their destination was 'Birmingham' is beyond me. Whatever happened to the more useful information of 'City Centre' and 'Castle Vale'?
Quite agree, I have been harking on about this for some time. At least, unlike Coventry, you don't have displays showing "via Birmingham" though that presumably because being larger Birmingham doesn't have any cross city services. I can only assume someone has decided passengers need continually reminding of what city/town they are in lest it has slipped their memory.

Sure I saw just 'Pool Meadow ' in old pictures?
most recently it was the likes of "via City centre" or "via City (Pool Meadow)" before that the not so
helpful "via City" was used to exhaustion. In the 1980s Fleetlines and Metrobuses had lazy blinds in that they didn't
need changing, both termini could be and frequently were  left on display at the same time eg "20 Bedworth/Broadgate" or
"19 Eastern Green/Pool Meadow".

If destination displays are now done in house could "via Coventry" be ditched at the
earliest opportunity for something more informative ?

Has the covid bus grant finished ? If so I guess Stagecoach can manipulate its fares to make
them more competitive with NX Coventry if its sufficiently motivated by potential loss of
income.

if we get substantial route and route number changes lets hope that something more informative
than "via Coventry" appears on displays and timetables

Great if Coventry could have all electric buses within a few years then the really hard task -
persuading motorists to give up using their cars for ALL journeys however small or regardless
of whether reliable public transport is an available alternative. Though it may go down like a lead balloon
with petrol heads I am a strong believer in sticks as well as carrots.

You can find out from Bustimes where the MAN300s are
Yesterday
22836 ran up and down ferrying drivers click on the "map" hyperlink adjacent 08:34 60 jny to get a visualisation.l
https://bustimes.org/vehicles/243934?date=2020-12-04

22837 ran alternatively on 703 and 60 all day
https://bustimes.org/vehicles/273541?date=2020-12-04

Thanks for that. I will try and catch a ride one. As Nuneaton has seen fit to withdraw all its Man 200 39xxx vehicles anything other
than an Enviro 200 36xxx is a bonus
