Are all buses and routes operated from Penkridge?

I'm surprised to see Select running a bus looking like this, their fleet always looks so smart in company livery.

There were a couple of MRW services in the late 80s/early 90s (459/460?) that followed a route through the University and the old QE site, then onto the Bristol Rd and into the city centre.

I think it's likely that the new route will follow the X21/X22 to some degree given it's a well-established corridor. I'd be surprised if it used the Bristol Rd only, it'd be too similar to the 144 and the old X62 which didn't last too long due to low usage. Agree with the renumbering idea - the X is a misnomer on both counts.

There were and the 459 was discontinues on that section, the 460 was replaced by the 445 went right out of Pritchatts Road, right onto Edgbaston Park Road and then left onto Bristol Road. There were also the minibus routes 453/454 which covered the current X21/X22 between the Univeristy and town on a 30 minute frequency replacing the 653.

So, drivers on the current Bearwood rota are going from driving the 20, 20A both nice, scenic relatively quite, easy routes to the 80 and 74, bet that's gone down well!!

Have you looked at the timetable? 30 minute frequency, buses depart Wolverhampton 00 and 30, arrive Codsall 35 and 05 departing at 40 and 10 arriving back in Wolverhampton at 16 and 46. 3 buses working the route at any one time.

At the moment they use anything. Come the 16th May that will have to change to euro 6 buses on there and it'll be a 2 bus working with 1 bus on late night and they cant justify the evoras on there. Only suitable is either E200 MMC's or euro 6 E200's or if 62 is fixed by that point then 62 & 64 could be used on there

The tender is for a 3 bus working, if you look at the timetable 1 h 16 a round trip.

They've also started painting the earliest Volvo B9s in new corporate livery. Seem 37097 YJ 08 GWN and 37669 YJ 58 RSX. What is happening to the existing Badgerline liveried Streetdecks at Weston, the newest and smartest vehicles in the FWE fleet.

A new strategy for de-branding buses, rip the branding off the off-side while leaving it on the near side, seen on 2 of the 3&4 liveried B9s, including 37623.

Does anyone remember the routing of Whittle's Wednesday only X95 service between Bridgnorth and Merry Hill. I am familiar with the routing from Kidderminster to Merry Hill - running by way of Blakedown, Hagley (Forge Garage), Pedmore, Ham Lane, Lye, Thorns Road, etc. to Merry Hill but it is the section of route between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, including which side of the river it ran (Highley or Alveley side)? Remember the route existing, I think Choice Travel (Willenhall) also ran the service for a while.
 

Normally will be some of the local coach operators Stagecoach contract to run it. Doubt NX and Diamond have buses/staff lying around to run an emergency contract like that on a weekday.

On the Worcester Lines to Stourbridge/Bromsgrove they normally seem to use Brits Coaches whos yard is based in Cradley Heath.

Quite a lot of the mid-week engineering work that means RR buses are required happens during school holiday, NX run different timetables on most key routes meaning there is a saving of many peak running boards, therefore spare vehicles and drivers. Tony, do you have an idea of the PVR reduction when school holiday timetables are in place?

Take it you don't live here or have used the route. There is people who use it in the evenings, the short trips are positioning trips but there is also people who do get off on Walsall Road and connect to the 51 late in the evening, I know because i've done it plenty of times in the past.

The dead run from Perry Barr to West Brom isn't long at all, West Brom run dead to places further like Sutton Coldfield. So there is a point in the short late night run, it's a handy link that is used.
