Are you able to confirm if this is with Social Travel as i did not think that you had this in your bus fleet. Thank you.

@WN - I suppose that it could have just been a mistake. For example the driver might have been looking at the wrong timetable which is an easy mistake to make.

The thing is that small independent bus operators do not have the same resources as the large big group bus operators. They will not always have spare vehicles and spare drivers available all the time. Also it can sometimes be impossible to get a spare vehicle out straight away if a bus brakes down. For example for some of the operators that i work for we operate bus routes that run up to 44 miles away from the depot so it can sometimes take at least two hours to get a spare vehicle out.

@Kevin - I am not trolling at all. I was just asking questions.

@Steveminor - That is good to hear. Is SN51 SXU a replacement for anything or is it just an additional vehicle.

@WN @Ashley 60171 @T840MAK - That is interesting to hear. But maybe it might have just been out of service but was displaying a route number and destination by mistake. Did you see if another bus arrived at 08:02 or are you sure that this bus was definetly operating early.

@Steveminor - Yes i completely agree with that. It does definetly make it a lot more unfair especially for the smaller independent bus operators.

@Steveminor - Yes i have definetly found that with a lot of buses that i have driven with different operators that i have worked for. For example some older mk1 and mk2 Dart SLF buses can be a lot more reliable than newer buses such as Enviro 200 and Plaxton Primo and MAN 14.220 MCV Evolution buses.

@Steveminor - So it seems like he has worked for quite a few different bus operators in the West Midlands in the past.

@Steveminor - That is a shame. I assume then that your low floor Darts were probably much more reliable. I often find that some older buses can be much more reliable than some more modern buses.

@Steveminor @Solo1 - It seems like he has previously worked for both Tamworth Bus And Coach and for Birmingham Motor Traction in the past.

Has anyone on this forum ever seen the Optare Metrocity buses (YJ65 EVP / YJ65 EVR) on any other routes other than their route 16 service. Thank you.

@Steveminor - Thanks for the info. It is a shame that they were not more reliable as they are certainly very nice buses.

@Steveminor - I see what you mean. I had always thought that he had probably converted S453 CVV to DDA compliant. Do you know if he has any plans to convert this bus to DDA compliant or to buy any additional vehicles to use when Y337 FJN is not available.

@Tony - I see your point. But the thing is the compliance rates might not always be accurate. For example the inspectors might check the buses when the operator is just having a bad week and are normally much more compliant. Also they could check the buses when an operator is just having a good week but are normally much less compliant. So it is not always going to be that accurate.

@fleetline6477 - It can be hard for some companies to keep up to date with all the changes to regulations and everything like that. As far as i am aware the DVSA do not go around informing every bus operator of every change that happens.

@Steveminor - Thanks for the info. I know that they could be quite unreliable when they first came to Autocar but they seem to be quite reliable recently. Do you know how long that AMPM had them for.
