Service 38 (Derby-Sinfin) is to be converted to Sapphire standard on 18th August with a launch event on 11th in Derby city centre.

any
One of them, 4405, had a bit of a day out today!

I like it! Very nice. Interesting they used the white digital display. Now... The woman looked quite excited to see the Sapphire Enviro, judging her face expression and body language. It's like "<squee> It's here!" 😂😂

What was it doing here ????
anything to do with the 110 ????????

If double deckers are the ultimate people movers why are they only in the uk ? Every country and city in Europe see single deckers and bendi buses as being better. In my experience, and i spend a lot of time abroad they are correct.

Possibly cost and capacity eg why pay 2 drivers on 2 single deckers when you can pay 1 driver 1 bus and near enough the same capacity? Not saying this is correct im just looking at it in a cost way.  In Europe they are miles ahead of us brits. Theyre not too shy to invest.

NXWM are far from perfect but compared to the other companies in the region are much better.

Erm.....why?

And is that a good reason to create a permanent monopoly? And exclude new entrants?

I would suggest that the relationship between Centro and NX has only lasted so long due to Centro being one of the least progressive and most stagnant PTE's in the country with low standards and aspirations.

Andy i fully agree with you buddy. when compared to Tfgm (Up in Manchester). Easy comparison is the Tram routes Metrolink vs Midland metro.

I didnt say that tony? But they couldve pulled the chain/police etc

Pulled the chain so the train is stopped in the middle of nowhere and they you are all trapped on a train with some nutters???
Theres no Logic there lad. Ok conductor should of done his rounds, but remember there is not much the conductor could of done that you couldnt of. And this is wrong with society nobody wants to say anything you could of easily moved away from the scene and called the police?
So my verdict you are just as guilt as the conductor.

Change of Subject slightly.
But what will be the next industry standard National Express coach?

Would be nice to see them return to Plaxton and try the Elite-I platform.
Ok its not quite a double decker but would be great for capacity and comfort. just imagine the wood floor effect and leathers

A bit of a rant here now lets go...
What is this obsession from some folk about wiping the smaller operators out?
Do you fail to see that competition does us all good in the end ?
Some of these small operators are actually human beings, guys and girls who you would find in the pub on the weekend people who also have bills to pay and lifes to live. Ok they may not be up to the standard of NXWM but hey give them a chance.
Claribels Central Connect Central Buses Silverdale etc were once small operators give them all a chance. In this time how the economy is its good to have other operators.

There was a Tri-Axle Megabus Coach parked in the Bus Stop opposite the Bill & Bull Pub just past Yardley Swan with its hazard lights flashing not sure if it brokedown or was waiting there I don't think there was any passengers on it couldn't get fleet number or reg as I was passing on 4895 on the 900E at the time

Possibly dropping off a driver as one of them lives by the park by the bill & bull

Longbridge and Hill Top are just bogus, Stagecoach wont be setting up shop.
If stagecoach wanted to set up shop in Birmingham dont you think they would of done it by now????
The way things are set up in the West Midlands is too National Express biased, travelcards tickets ticket outlets etc etc etc, it would be a costly move for them to do this.
However if they could buy NXWM that would be a different case.
As for megabus the Rugby depot has a good coverage area over the west midlands and Longbridge is hardly central to the motorway network.

Megabus dont do Airports, megabus is a low cost travelling method and Airports are risky business if there're delays.
National Express already have a dominant force and share of all the major Airports so once again a waste of money methinks.

Who else is there to have a go on the 97 other than possibly Claribels? Do they have capacity at their depot to expand any further?

1) Names have been put forward. Some spoof, some have thought about it.

Yes, I remember being told that Arriva were going on the 97s last year....still waiting!

Tony i heard the exact same rumour
