There's a fault at the Bus Open Data Service

Quote from: BODSHello,

This is an update to let you know how progress is being made regarding availability of the Bus Open Data Service.

The availability of the site is being monitored carefully and whilst we can see the experience has significantly improved for many users, we know that some users are unable to consistently publish or download data.

The BODS team continue to work to improve the availability of the service and we'll keep you updated throughout and on an ongoing basis.

What will happen to existing purchases of the Dudley and Sandwell mTickets (I have a couple that I've brought but not yet activated)?

QuoteLooking at some of the changes from start of July and they are absolutely horrific. That isn't passing judgement of whether they should be made, we have to accept NXs judgement on that. They are massive though.  Look at the 29 Walsall which will have a higher Sunday frequency (for the part trip) than the Mon-Sat when buses run through. Every 20 minutes down from every 7-8 on the shorts section. OUCH.

There are clear errors on some of the timetables such as the 11/11A Dudley to Walsall on a Saturday. The timetable says no service between 0920 and 1707 in the Walsall direction but a reduction to 30 minutes/combined 15 in the opposite.  If the timetables are right, the 37 loses its Sunday service completely- could be an error if the reduction to 20 minutes from 15 is the 34 shorts going rather than the 37 going. I assume it is right though.

However, the end is nigh for the 10. One of the few non Brum bound services to get a 30 minute in the evening for 7 days a weeks until recently. Sunday's hourly service starting super early now and other days losing their 30 minutes too.

The favoured 4 in Brum, down to every 15 minutes from every 6-12 minutes. Pretty brutal. As I say, no saying it shouldn't happen only wow that it is.
The WA37 timetable is showing on the PDF on Sundays

QuoteCONJECTURE

Early preparation for fleet movements when E164-E333 enter service? Being a brand new garage I would imagine PB will be in pole position to get quite a few of them.
Remember that Coventry is to be 100% electrics so its possible that some single deck routes in the city might get converted to electric deckers

QuoteI wonder if its just a 'data error' now, as there are no 'variations' registered for either service.

https://www.vehicle-operator-licensing.service.gov.uk/search/find-registered-local-bus-services/details/606905/

Strangely, these and other TfWM contracts show a status of 'Admin Cancelled' from 25th Feb.
If its services ran wholly within the TfWM area, then its no longer DVSA who administer bus service registrations, TfWM have had the powers devolved.

EDIT - I didn't see your later post, sorry.

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have the following old timetables

102 Birmingham - Woodgate Valley
37A Birmingham - Acocks Green - beyond
38Y
A6 (replacement for the A6Y/C6Y)
84/85 (Travel Your Bus)
81Y
92Y

If so, would they be willing to post a copy on here of them please?

That's all well and good, but what about those who have to work from home due to medical conditions?

QuoteI don't have a copy of the route map but they were basically circular services which combined thre NXWm 449 and 450.

At the time the 449 ran West Bromwich to Brandhall, and so the Diamond Route then extended via Kingsway and Hagley Road West to Bearwood, then turned left onto High Street where it picked up the 450 route.

Between Brandhall and Bearwood I believe the buses could show either 449 or 450 as I'm pretty sure through tickets were available.

Cheers. I know its not the only time Diamond had routes which showed one number in one direction but another in another direction (I found a old timetable which was for the 217/247/248 which had buses from Blackheath or Dudley to Stourbridge show 248, buses from Stourbridge to Blackheath show 217 and buses from Stourbridge to Dudley show 247 (despite being three distinct routes (247/8 Dudley - Stourbridge and 217 Merry Hill - Blackheath))

Quick question - does anyone have a 2008 Sandwell and Dudley map that has the routings for the 449 (West Brom - Brandhall/Bearwood) and 450 (West Brom - Bearwood/Brandhall) Diamond routes? (I've got the timetable leaflet, but the Diamond timetable doesn't have a route description, like many of the other ones they printed in 2008)

I remember Diamond had vaults for a short period back in the Go-Ahead days, but that's 16 years ago!

Hi Simon.

Looks like the 226 is missing data on the BODS feed (only the 0710 trips and the TfWM tendered trips on a M-F are showing for the Monday to Friday times) and the BODS feed is also still showing the 226A.

Also, what stand does the 226 go from at Merry Hill as it is showing on your site and on the BODS data as stand C, but apparently it is going off stand H according to the stands at Merry Hill.

With the mTickets on Diamond, how long do I have to activate them after buying them (e.g. could I buy one and then use it a couple of months later for example?)

QuoteIts an intresting point..  I asked this couple of years ago as I thought it would be useful if there was a section blocked however from what I can see in dudley Town it looks like the road sections will be on segregated track.

On another note..  with work appearing to have started on the flood street/bus station section of the tracks, how long will it be before the bus Interchange begins being built... and does anyone have any idea if a temp bus station/terminus will be provided for buses while this work is being carried out?
Yes, there is one going to be provided.
