Quote from: Stu on August 19, 2015, 07:10:38 PMOh thanks for that @Stu one thing I question about that line is could that eventually see the end of the 900.
That must be an error in the article, as I have seen no proposals for a Metro line between Solihull and the Airport. Don't forget, the Airport is actually in Solihull anyway. ;)
The long-term aim for the Airport Metro line is to have it run through to Coventry, but this will be some years off, and there were no firm proposals for the exact route between the Airport and Coventry.
Quote from: MW on August 19, 2015, 12:07:24 AMYeah I have to agree with that if PB or YW did run journeys then the traffic and incidents wouldn't be such of a issue another thing that I think as a user of the 11 for 10 years the school kids and overcrowding are a big issue maybe YW or PB could run some extra buses on the route so passengers between the Fox and Goose and Acocks Green can all get on the bus as @Stu has pointed out earlier in the thread all the journey arriving in Acocks Green from 7:50 - 8:45 are packed full of school childeren leaving other passengers at the bus stop waiting because there's no more room over the past 2 years I have noticed a lot of drivers at the Yew Tree turning the engine of and threatening to phone the police because the bus is to full maybe if another garage ran some journeys behind the AG ones and taking any passengers left behind.
Yeah that was a point I raised. I used to use the 11 occasionally from Acocks Green to Handsworth to get to school around 5 years ago. It was longer than going cross city and getting two buses, but convienient in terms of frequency and not changing over. As a passenger you ultimately want the bus to be on time and take you to where you have to go, and the traffic on the route is by far a lot. For example, the traffic at Bromford. I think if another depot, namely PB ran certain jouneys from Perry Barr/Handsworth area at certain times may be something to look into. A couple months ago there was a big car accident near Blakesley Hall in Stechford. My bus was the only one that got past it due to the bus infront being involved and I obertook before police and traffic became an issue. It meant that by the time I got to Selly Oak, the first bus behind me was stuck in the traffic at Stechford along with God knows how many more (11C). The garage then sent out duplicates which caught up with me in Bearwood. The next 11A due at Bearwood was still at Perry Barr, so I was then turned around after transferring passengers, and worked an 11A/E to Acocks Green, as my driving hours were nearly over and due to the incident in Stechford, I wouldn't make it back.
Quote from: Stu on August 18, 2015, 08:09:05 PMPasenger numbers will probably be up again in three weeks @Stu :) :) :)
Since the start of the school holidays? ;)
The 11s I usually see in the mornings are rammed full, mostly with schoolkids.
Because yeah, taxis are so much cheaper than buses and don't get held up in the same traffic, right? :D
Quote from: monkeyjoe on August 18, 2015, 09:12:24 PM@monkeyjoe I think next year the 97, 126, 94 and Bristol Road will all be possible routes witch may get new buses
A bit random but do we think when the Sutton routes go Platinum next year the 67/65/46 will get the cast offs and the 94 will get new buses or potentially the other way round. Just bored and curious. :-\
Quote from: Chris on August 18, 2015, 02:28:54 PMCan't see what route they would take between the Airport and Solihull? At one point I'm sure there was a extension from The City Centre to The Airport planned would make a bit more sense than Airport to Solihull if it went from the City Centre to Solihull and went thought the Airport on the way.
Hopefully the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill /merry hill will happen. Will provide a faster link in Birmingham. Any news about the brierley hill to stourbridge reopening?
Quote from: The Real 4778 on August 18, 2015, 09:32:31 AMSome of the AG Geminis acturely look a mess never been refurbrished @The Real 4778 I think if these do get done they will get red and white to match the others at AG.
I sincerely hope not.
Although I guess there are connecting-bars liveried Tridents and so on that will get plain red and white to see out their days.
Quote from: AV4248 on August 17, 2015, 07:13:00 PMCorrect the 38 is on the Erdington rota @AV4248
@John At a wild guess, was it called Erdington rota maybe?
Also I know it's irrelevant now but does anyone know the rota the WN 79 used to be on?
Quote from: The Fox 4846 on August 17, 2015, 06:54:16 PMOr Bordesley Greens rotas.
Anyone know WA Rota's?
Quote from: The Fox 4846 on August 17, 2015, 06:22:05 PM@The Fox 4846 again with every 2nd 66 being shortened to Star City I assume there will be enough for the 52/A anyway there were rumors PB will get the 61 plate Enviro 400 from Walsall
Could be for 52/52A?
Quote from: Squiz1971 on August 17, 2015, 04:49:09 PMProbably saw that one saw it pulled out of the stop before the Fox and Goose this morning, strange why before Saturday all that was appearing on the 94 was Geminis with the odd Enviro 400 when required the B7TL ALX400 have only started reappearing over the last few days?
4278 is/was also on the 94 saw it about 11:15 on inward journey bottom end of Washwood heath road by the s bends
