I wonder what buses diamond will be using on the emergency tenders. I would have thought that diamond can't actually have that many spare buses floating around as tividale are borrowing off long acre for a start and in this month's fleet changes a lot of buses are moving out of long acre which is presumably where the VIP routes will be run from. Maybe some of these changes will be postponed until when the contracts are let permanently. Does anyone know how long they will be running the emergency contracts for?

In the recent Centro tender changes didn't Diamond win some new routes but lost more existing work than they gained, therefore there should be spare buses knocking around

But it seems overall that 4 buses have been lost from long acre. Though don't know how many actual buses work the VIP stuff will be as some like the 99 is evening and night stuff so say tividale could run that using 002 centros or something else cheaper thats free so that doesnt really count as I'm sure diamond have plenty of buses floating about on evenings and sundays. Daytime work could be more of a squeeze though.

Isn't the daytime just 424/650 i.e 3 buses work? So shouldn't be too much of a squeeze

Good to see Diamond back on the 424, looks as though Long Acre will have a but of work with the 424 and the 650. Also did VIP Operate the Sunday 71 commercially, or will Diamond run that along with the evenings.

They did operate the 71 commercially, but cancelled it in August? and won the emergency tender for it.

It was an LGH dart and was being towed around by the Jewellery Quater I think (thats where I was heading, cant remember where about it was though!)

Where does it say they are planning to get rid of the 73 link between the Solihull and heartland hospitals. An article about a fight to save the route in the paper.

They want to cut it back to the Yew Tree but provide a connection to the 97 to provide a link to Heartlands & City Centre. I would just say cut it back to Heartlands Hospital.

Driver on the 957 heading for Solihull thought he was a 900 and missed the turn at the Wheatsheaf and tried to do a sharp turn onto slip road and got stuck and had to do a lot of manoevering to get onto slip road correctly 4906 Holly May was the Bus I've recorded a vid of some of her moves when I've uploaded the vid I'll post the link

Would it not have been easier to go to the Arden Oak and do a U Turn, and come back up the Cov Rd, rather than messing about and reversing?

I thought that when I was witnessing it :)

Did he chuck the passengers off while reversing? The bus looks empty and there seem to be people standing on the central reservation at the very end of the video

Whatever works on the 58 in the daytime goes onto the 957 of an evening :)

Thats what I was getting at ::)  I think it replaced another bus as it came into solihull 'NOT IN SERVICE' this morning/midday I think
