What routes do people think most at risk? Obviously the minibus routes are always likely candidates (654, 651, 424, 600, 25, 167/8, 604) but I'd be willing to bet the 28, 66/66A and 88 would see some major changes, and no doubt the 966 will be tinkered with again to cover areas lost from other routes (making it even more long winded)

And with regards to frequency, it says in that document the current frequencies of the buses that go there don't encourage bus travel to the airport, and a more frequent link is needed. So making it every 20 or 30 minutes would surely defeat the object of extending it in the first place, as it won't be a frequent link.

This is the one thing that has always intrigued me, most major city airports I can think of have regular bus services to various nearby places, and what what ive seen at least in Manchester and Liverpool those bus services are very well used. And yet Birmingham airport only has a handful of not very frequent routes, even more surprising to me considering the NEC is there aswell. Was the 58 ever a frequent route all the way to the airport?

Was the 6 ran to the airport, was that funded? Didn't last very long from memory.

Wasn't that the 6Y Your Bus route? Seems familiar, might have to look at the maps when I get home

Dear Christ what have I started here... Oops

I do notice the registration states the finish point as "Birmingham Airport / Chelmsley Wood", so not all services running through to the airport seems likely

On a personal note, I find this slightly amusing, as I've hinted to one of the users of my Facebook page that 'an extension of the 97 to the Airport is more likely' than any of his ridiculous suggestions, and his response was along the lines of 'that won't happen'  ::)

Nah should be extended to Merry Hill instead

Eclipse on the x51 (again, vague, looked and sounded like an eclipse but couldn't see the fleet number across the road), it could be because its a peak journey but I don't recall seeing one of these recently.

Perhaps only the 97, not the 97a, then it isn't quite so many

Sunday X51 and 935A have been interworking since they started.

Touché, forgot that. Why do they use branded buses on them then? Surely on Sundays there's enough spare unbranded ones

The current 28/46 terminus at Scott Arms has always been a bit awkward (people parking in the way)

The one I find weird is the one that's cropped up recently on the 934, heads round the back of Asda Queslett rd along effectively a service road and stops randomly along the edge of the car park.

Its one of those areas you feel should have a bus service because without it there would be just a massive hole with no bus route. But then you look at the area between Pershore Rd and Alcester Rd (Moor green lane etc...) a similar sized hole exists where all bus companies appear to have given up

Because passenger usage and surveys have determined there is not enough demand for services in those areas?

If the 10 was well-used, then Diamond wouldn't be withdrawing it. There's no point operating a commercial service if the takings don't pay for it.  ::)

That's right.   It's not so much that bus companies have given up - they have never served the Moor Green Lane area, and for a perfectly good reason.  It's another affluent part of Birmingham where there aren't enough potential passengers to justify even a subsidised bus service.

649/650 used to be circular services City - Kings Heath running through the Moor Green Lane area. But the point is bus companies have given up there a long time ago, so surprised the 10 is still running as it's a similar sort of area.

Wonderfully vague, I know (was viewed from a distance) but.....

935 branded Enviro on the 51 or X51 this afternoon (narrowed it down to one of them two because it was on the Walsall rd stopping at Tower Hill)

Wait til the North Bham review, then try to find any related timetable or map, I've struggled for a few weeks after each of the other reviews
