Sadly 1480 has been earmarked for withdrawal since august so it was inevitable it would be withdrawn soon

PB1480 is on the 71A this morning.

Still out and about today on the 28

Intrigued.... why earmarked for withdrawal it seemed in decent condition when I was on it on the 28 (a while back), and saw it this morning on the 46

2138 on the 97, granted I don't normally go out that part of town to get to see a 97, but I don't recall any of them on it

1480 has been earmarked for withdrawal, meaning that it can go any day now, not withdrawn at present. I don't think it looks tatty, but it is strange to see a TWM liveried B10L about.

:O
usuailly scania omnilink allocation due to emissions rules :P

That's what I thought when I saw it, didn't realise at the time someone on here mentioned it was due for withdrawal. Makes me glad I got a picture of it at the time

The train slows as it reaches the station and if somebody wants to board the train they hail it as they would a bus

...which is a very weird experience

Definitely a weird conversation... But equally glad I ain't the only one that quietly does it to myself when I think no one can hear me

Isn't all relevant to the 'Connected City' project

It's part of the Smart Network project.

http://www.mynetwork.org.uk/Birmingham.aspx

The Bristol Road and Pershore Road are the 'South Birmingham Technology Corridor', the shelters on these key routes are being upgraded with better information systems for passengers.
Why don't they just do what they did with the 11 shelters? They're still the blue one but have still got live timings, and besides they're  still green shelters in a lot of places >:( >:(

I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find even older shelters still in use somewhere

4513 on the 42 this evening
812 on the 43 but I think it's inter-working with the 45 so no surprise to see one on there

Slightly worrying the prospect of a decker going round some of those roads on the 42

If the 560 is being cancelled, that means bloxwich-wolves is now down to 2 buses an hour instead of the previous 6.... wow... travelled on the 89 a couple of weeks ago and it was standing room only from bloxwich so theres obviously a need for it, so why is it being run down so much?

Its not the case of being run down its being that the 89 is 5 mins infront (and both services run 2 an hour so 4 not 6 but with such a small gap between the 560 and 89 they both ran on top of each other with NXWM full and the Arriva bus following) 560 both ways and Arriva could not be bothered to retime it.  It did not run around the town on its way back from Bloxwch to Wolves it just truned from Broad street into Stafford st to start on the 76, plus 9 times out of 10 due to it being interworked with the 70 and 76 it was late and ran to the favourite destination of "sorry not in service" or not turn up at all or just drive past you even though you signalled for it in plenty of time typical Cannock driver who did not like Centro area work.  Also from new invention you have the 28 and 69 then from just after the broadway the 59 so NXWM have all the bases covered on top of the 89. With regards to your journey it must just have been a freak incident is only the peaks as the 89 during the day is not that busy otherwise it would have deckers regular its mainly volvo single decks.
In this case even though the 560 is one of my local routes Arriva got what they deserved no custom.

I'm sure when NX ran the 560 they and Arriva used to run every 20 mins, almost as a fitted 10 minute frequency (i say almost, NX ran round New Cross hospital and Arriva didnt)

I can see that the 48 is to be altered? does anyone have any details of the changes, routes etc? I'm sure i have seen a 48 stop on Raddelbarn Road in Selly Oak.

Jesus, Raddlebarn road? Extended even further? That is going to be a weird convoluted route then

Are they the same ones as in the city centre? ie. nowhere to really sit and you get battered by the elements?

I'm going to hazzard a guess that not all of them will be branded?

3AM starts and, I'd assume, equally late finishes
