On return I got a class 156 EMR to derby and then changed onto the HST to Birmingham. These trains really are brilliant, so smooth.

And you are more likely to be 'breathed on' by someone coming up asking you politely to move your bag so they can sit down than someone sat next to you facing the same direction. It is face to face that is the problem hence why backwards facing seats are still not in use

I tell you what then Tony. Are you seriously suggesting I let someone sit next to me on a bus who may be a carrier and/or is not wearing a face mask? Maybe if the bus drivers actually cared whether someone was wearing a face covering or not I would feel a bit more relaxed.

Sit on the seat away from the window or bag next to me. Simple as. I'm sure the old folks won't mind who sits next to them now they are double jabbed. Different situation for the younger generation

Does this article mean that all forward facing seats will be in use from Monday? Including those next to other passengers and therefore capacity is increasing?

I don't understand this bit either - why would someone sit next to someone, when there are seats available elsewhere.

Mostly cause by the huge diversion in West Bromwich where buses were losing around 20 minutes. Any idea how late the Diamond ones were with their much shorter running times?

Difference is diamond run an every 10 min frequency. And diamond don't really pay attention to timetables it's more of a shuttle service. Diamond have introduced new timetable today which allows extra running time in peaks
