Neither are very comfortable, and the blue flooring/interior panels on the grey seated examples gives an almoat clinical look, doesnt exactly lend itself to a feel of luxury.  Id say the old DP Nationals were even more comfy than the Metrobuses!

Personal opinion but I find the current leather seats on Enviros and Omnilinks reasonably comfortable, on a par with the Metrobus Timesavers just not as springy

What replaced 258 Birningham-Merry Hill

141? Only route I know that goes Birmingham to Merry Hill.

The 276,289,127 and 120 replaced the 258

From memory, the 238 and 258 were much the same Blackheath to Merry Hill, and when the 258 was withdrawn the 238 was increased in frequency, with the 127 taking over city - Blackheath. Then the 238 became the 289 and it all went downhill from there

The latest news I have is that the initial agreement between Westfield and Centro has been signed, and detailed design work will be undertaken over the next 3 to 4 months.

Work on both the new road layout and the new Bus Station will start next March with completion of the entire scheme before the end of October 2014.

The new Bus Station will have 2 stands more than the existing one.  There are two options for the site of the new Bus Station.  It could be on the site of the existing one (extended into the adjoining car park).  The alternative is to take over the car park alongside the Asda petrol station.  If the second option was taken, it would probably be possible to use the existing Bus Station while the new one is being built.

I hope for the last option, purely because it means annoying motorists by reducing the number of parking spaces

I wonder if they'll let me buy either 502 or 581 for preservation? ;)

I'm really going to miss them, each PN B6 has/had its own personality and I always loved them :(

I'm soon to lose two of my favourite types of bus in existance, B6s and Metrobuses!

I'd get used to the idea if I were you mate, when I was your age I was gutted with the Lynx's fast disappearing, and the metrobuses since as well.

Why haven't you lot blown a gasket with 4905 on the 63 today? And 2134 (I think) on the Pershore?

Think someone mentioned them earlier on. Would love to have seen an Enviro on the Bristol road, although I'd imagine it's already trashed as a result

805 on 98

Guaranteed to cause confusion. I know it's people's responsibility to check the number, destination etc of the bus they're catching but you couldn't blame someone for getting on this assuming it was a 99.

Could say the same about this:

Branded 51 - X51 early morning  ;D

Haven't been commuting on the bus for a while but if I saw that in the early morning I'd assume it was a 51 and let it go past

the Boris Master is 2 doors only, TfL removed the funding for the conductors

Not sure were you got that from!
The prototypes on the 38 are now running as normal buses in two door mode on normal workings, not extras like they were but the production ones LT8-40 on the 24 route are all in full 3 door with conductor mode

....and when I saw them "in the flesh" last week, they were hideous

I remember X56 operated by Chase coaches for years using coaches Plaxton in morning peak . Same driver everyday.

Yes! was a weird sight a full on coach in amongst all the buses in the city centre

Will NX operate it as the X56 or incorperate it into another service like the Evening and Sunday 56A is the 935A?

The X56 is new route route I hinted at turning off at the Scott Arms. It is to be integrated into the X51 as far as the Scott Arms and will then turn right there to head back to its current route. NXWM are also increasing the number of journies with two one way and three the other instead of the current one each way

Been thinking about this today, and strikes me as a bit bizarre. Two routes from Boney Hay to Birmingham, with the same number, but two different routes? Confusing much?

I knew about it, where it was and the fact it didnt have an engine... which made me wonder why/how it's now outisde in the open?

Interesting one this morning. Just gone 08:00 i saw 4780 (omnicity) failed just after it went under the flyover by One Stop Shopping Centre on the 907. All the passengers and a few drivers (presumably from on depot across the road) were stood there on the side of the road, by the looks of it waiting for the next bus. But other buses (4848 on the 33 and another unidentified omnicity on the 907) appeared to have been sent on diversion up the Walsall road (Christ knows which way they went from there), but a Central Buses 61 still went round as did some lorries so it can't have been that 4780 was an obstruction.

Saw a few breakdowns today one was 7027 which broke down just on it's way to Perry Barr although was displaying the 66 but had it's rear engine cover open.

7025 also on the 66 yesterday evening had its engine cover up in Perry Common

Here is diamond's solution

http://www.diamondbuses.com/news/BirminghamTunnelsClosuresTakethe56fromthenewParkRidesiteatPerryBarr_110.html

I love this, not taking the piss or anything, bit this makes it effectively look like:

Diamond: "look, we've got a bus every half hour from here to get you into town, aren't we good?"
NX: "...and we have one every 5 mins..."
