Walsall currently, to my knowledge, have never operated Mercs or the E200's.

Dunno, vague memory of Mercs at Walsall?

1848 (or 1846, forgot now) parked up on Oliver st, Nechells, on the 66. Came past it and realised it technically wasn't broken down, someone had smashed the back windows in

7031 on the 65 this morning. Perhaps not that unusual but in my very tired state I nearly caught it thinking it was the 66 as I'm actually in town early enough to catch it this morning. In my defense it was an omnilink and a  5 looks close to a 6

Midland Metro / Re: Centenary Square Extension.

Thought it had been an aspiration for years, along with the extension up Broad Street to Five Ways (which appears to have gone very quiet)

Posted on the Yahoo Groups forum: 4001 finally back in service on the 11 today.

Yay! Might have to wonder up to Wolves on Saturday to see it

More bizarrely, apart from one passenger who changed seats to avoid it, no-one else seemed to mind!  ;D

British attitude though isn't it? Most people were probably screaming and cursing in their heads but too reserved to say anything to anyone about it

I personally feel the Perry Barr P&R wasn't very well advertised. It was only a couple of days before the closure it really became noticeable on the NXWM website (prior to that it was hidden away on the site).

I drove along the A34 from Walsall the day before the closure, and I didn't notice anything at all informing me of this new option.

Can't say I've been looking, but haven't seen anything obvious saying "park and ride this way" or similar on me way into town on the X51 these past few days

What would people think of the idea of bus routes that went just that little bit further the other way out of the city centre? Or even a small network of city centre routes? Things that would create links from, say, Aston science park and University to Five Ways, or between the Jewellery Quarter and Eastside. U personally think those sort of links would be very useful as they eliminate the need to a) trudge across town from one "interchange" to another, and b) use the inner circle, because that service is hopeless at the best of times

4500 is done, don't think it is in service yet though

Saw it pass the Towers last night (Walsall road), looked nice and shiney so I guess it was on its way back to PB

There still isn't a reasonable replacement for the handsworth - lozells - aston section of the 123....

BC short of buses and drivers, again.

Doesn't surprise me. They drafting in any drivers or buses from other garages?

I've seen 3 Wolvo drivers at BC, temporarily of course.

No buses have been drafted in as of yet. The issue being they've moved Tridents without waiting for all the E400's to be in service first.

Really the Tridents shouldn't have been transferred until the end of the school holidays when the tunnels are reopened.

Then of course, if PE hadn't been so eager to say goodbye to the B6s, then BC could have had the Tridents back until it felt able to release them again.

Did seem a bit rushed to me as well

Saw a news cameraman (presumably) filming the Expressway traffic this morning on me way out of town, amongst the traffic he must have filmed a few buses so I claim some spotter points   ;D ;D ;D ;D

1811 (55) > 17

Seems like a regular occurrence, this.

Considering Bordesley only operate 3 routes (he says.... possibly wrong) they do seem to be doing this a lot recently, seen 55 branded buses on the 17 and 8a/c numerous times

If I have to catch a train and the ticket facitilies are not open (and the ticket machine only accepts card, as is the case at Hamstead) then I make a point of going to the guard and buying one. The whole of the London Midland network is a penalty fare zone and as such if you have no ticket and have made no effort to do so then you are liable to a fine. Regardless whether or not the guard does his job properly or the trains are up to scratch or anyone is at barriers to check the tickets, if you travel on the train and make no effort to buy a ticket you are a thief. It's no different to catching a bus and walking straight past the driver without paying, nor is it different to walking out of Tescos with your weekly shopping because the tills are the other side of the shop
