National Express West Midlands / Re: 907A?

Yeah the only difference in route is that the 907A doesn't use the flyovers and underpasses on the A34, no idea what the registration of the route to streetly was all about though

1842 seems to be making a strange rattling noise when coasting, just got off it on the 28

National Express West Midlands / Re: Diversions

Loving the irony in this particular one...
Because of the tunnel closures, all the A34 Birchfield road buses (express or not) are using the tunnel under Lancaster Circus inbound... Apart from this afternoon when it flooded, meaning they were diverted from the diversion onto the original line of route

S*** man I've been in some near misses around that junction when I used to go to school in Walsall. Definitely thoughts going out, will have to wait and see what actually happened

Are PB solo's to be withdrawn at Some point?

Sooner the better, hate them, a hate that probably stems from them putting them on routes like the 28

Will anything replace them ? thats if they still operate the 654

Get a few E200's? I'm sure bigger buses have been on the 654 before

Great route to stick to time on though. Fantastic.

Would never have imagined that, can't quite recall whether it was on time or late any time I've ever caught it but being such a convoluted route and traffic on Harborne High st to negotiate I imagined it'd be hell to keep to time

Ref the XC journey  Water Orton- New St...To be fair I have always been approached by an XC conductor (s) between WTO and New St, (in both directions) as you said  but not between WTO and Nuneaton.

So you go to the guard at the rear of the train and ask to buy a ticket.... no?

Stu, I said the 2 and 3 because them were the only routes i could think of that go down Albert Street operated by YW. Does the 6 go down Albert Street?

Yep, as does the 5 and 37 but it wouldn't have been either of them

Personally, I'd cut both the 98 and 99 to city - selly oak / harborne, and up the frequency of each to 15 mins, I've only ever seen those routes as being useful as shutte type services, and other more direct routes such as a 10 city - harborne - quinton - halesowen can easily cover the rest of the routes.

They do however provide valuable links from south and west Birmingham to the QE for Hospital workers and visitors. The 99 carries healthy loads over the section Quinton to QE, can't speak for the Halesowen end.

I can.

You get many elderly people within the village whom get off at Q. Church but very very light loadings down to Halesowen. You only get busy from Halesowen if the other services are late/people just missed them.

Ok, curtail it to Quinton then. Even then I think it's asking a bit much for a relatively major route to the city centre to run round the Welsh House Farm estate when there's enough larger roads around it for buses to run and stop within still easy enough walking distance

So, a fantastically vague one, but.....
A "50" branded enviro spotted heading out of Albert St onto Moor St Queensway in the city centre, now as the 50 turns round before then I can only assume the bus itself was not on route 50... No idea what route it was though, as I was right down the bottom of Moor St at the time on the 67
YW 2 or 3 maybe?

Seem the obvious routes, did seem to be a single digit route but couldnt tell more beyond that
