4781 on 67?

Yes, it was on 67. I was on that bus today.

I was wondering whether it was unusual?

I'm not entirely sure, these OmniCity buses usually go on the 902/4/5/7 and used to be on 934 before it got changed (that's as far as I can remember from the top of my head).

See one or two on there fairly regularly

4 branded 1853 on the 40/41
4 branded 1861 on the 29

I can't remember the last time I saw or heard of a 4 branded bus off route, and then you get two in one day!

They've been on the 301 before I'm sure

One has also done the X51

Yeah I saw one on X51 (and hence 934/935) on a sunday

Looking at the back of the branding on 4880 in front of me at the lights I can't help but think NX seem to be in competition with themselves. The branding states "fast to the city centre from Pheasey (934&936) Streetly (935) Aldridge and Brownhills (936)" no mention of the 997 which I would say is just as fast and serves 3 of the 4 places mentioned.
I also find it a bit strange the 997 still has completely different branding to anything

The thing is I hear a lot of people asking about specific roads, which aren't going to be on any map / information point and it's asking a hell of a lot for the drivers to know even if they go past it sometimes, taxis however.....

The 9 fits with the 140/141 on Sundays, the three routes combined make an every 5-15 minute frequency to Quinton, with 9s running at 00, 20, 40, 141s running at 15, 45 and the 140 running at 30 (from Birmingham), and an every 15 minutes frequency on evenings, with a 9 every 30 minutes and a 140 or 141 either side of the 9.

Mind my ignorance, but surely if the 9 had to have a frequency increase, it would've been done by now, it's been every 20 minutes on Sundays for as long as I can remember, the evening frequency was reduced last year to every 30 minutes, used to be every 15 minutes at one point

If they've done that specifically to combine the frequencies then it makes very little sense, as they are all different

Walsall's eclipses venturing into brum quite regularly at the moment, 1756 on the 936

4770 (branded for 997 so presume it was on it, destination was blank though) being loaded onto a Mansfield truck just now on Priory Queensway

Copied from the WB garage thread, so it doesn't end up clogging it up with unrelated posts...

I wonder in time if the 4 will ever be upgraded to double decker operation

The reason the 4/H/M don't get deckers is something about the route back to garage has a low bridge or something if i correctly read on here?

This has been mentioned before and if I'm honest (and if it's true) i think it's a pathetic excuse. The buses are generally quite full every time i see them (apart from last Saturday to Merry Hill, which was weird) and could do with deckers, and nowhere on the route is stopping it. But because of a bridge between the garage and the start of the route, when there's a perfectly good alternative with no bridges, the service can only use single deckers? Even if there was an incident before, still sounds stupid.

It is of course, therefore hugely popular

Yep... Sounds logical enough

Chance anyone could clarify what appears to me to be a bit of a grey area regarding the use of older buses in the city centre?

basically, the way I understand it is if a service is more than 3 tines per hour then it needs to use compliant buses. But what about evenings or Sundays when the service is reduced? Equally the other way round, if a service is normally every 20/30 mins but in peak hours has more buses (eg, the 936, X51, sure there's more than that) could it get away with non compliant buses during the peak hours?

Saw 4877 and 4878 in the flesh this evening in town so got to have a good look at the branding, and yes I do like it, looks smart. Just hope they stick with these routes now because they've messed around with the express routes down Kingstanding Rpad enough now

That would be because it's every 10 min to pheasey and half hour beyond to Walsall, so yes there will be more 997E journeys

Think someone has already photoshopped it into NXWM and NXC livery

I'll try to find it and post a link. Have no idea where to look.

Here is one someone has photoshopped into NXD/NXWM hybrid livery

Thought it was the design of the bus itself I didn't like, but to me it doesn't look quite as hideous as the red somehow
