Running the 71A, combined with the changes that had to be made to the 66 and 966, and the resulting overcrowding of the 451 between Oscott and Sutton have probably created cost not too far short of running the 68, which I feel could have been rescued with some frequency and route alterations...but no, let's throw some more buses onto the Sutton - Birmingham road to run behind each other virtually empty.....

Andy posted this on another thread and it rather chimed in with something I was going to post anyway - is the 915 (Birmingham - expressway - Sutton - Falcon Lodge) really necessary?

The route is duplicated by others with high frequency virtually throughout, except for a small stretch in Falcon Lodge estate.

Falcon Lodge already has two links to central Birmingham which arguably are more direct - the 914 (via Expressway) and 115 (through Aston) which give a combined 15m frequency, and it also linked to Sutton via Good Hope by Blue Diamond's 119 (amongst others) again on a 15m frequency.

So is there really any need for the 915?

And are there any other routes you can think of that are effectively "overkill"?

The 914 doesnt serve erdington & the 115 take upto 40 mins to get to Falcon Lodge were as the 915 takes upto 20/25 minutes, quite a few people would miss out onm the 915, plus the 914 & 915 dont serve the same roads in Falcon Lodge neither

He didn't say the 914 went through Erdington. Will you read the post properley next time as it saves a lot of hassle!

Worth noting that there has been a Rotala support car patrolling Solihull Town Centre for the last two weeks. It got fined for driving through the bus only area lmao!

Leaving 4517-4521 & 4529 at AG which I assume will move eventually with the recent block fleet changes we've been having. The Presidents suit AG better than BC I think personally and do look very smart, but I feel an overkill of Presidents at AG is soon approaching. Any idea if AG will lose any of 4635-4679 which could do with a refurb!

There's a Scania on the 1 today working the usual Eclipse board, so the 71/72 must be all Eclipse today. There is still a second Eclipse on the 1 as usual. Like I said before their arrival, 23 Eclipses is too much for the 71 & 72 and instead replaced everything previously B10 operated, so it's just a matter of time before one appears on the 31. :)

BC is more than capable to operate the Dudley Road corridor if it came to it.

Of course there is a need. These 9** routes operate a high joint frequency up to Sutton, then a 30 minute frequency (I think) to the surrounding areas, so they have a link with Sutton Coldfield Centre, as well as Birmingham.

Didn't 666 get stolen and crashed which led to its withdrawl?

That was 116 I think. A Volvo B6 with a Plaxton Pointer body

Where do you actually live as you seem to think you know more about other peoples local services. I'm a regular on the 37 and I've never seen this.

Severe traffic problems in the city centre, affecting all routes using Moor Street Queensway this evening.

My 37 turned up in Sparkbrook just after 6:30pm and was absolutely heaving, so I gave it a miss. Got on a 31 not long after and that was a full double-deck, some people must have been waiting ages!  :o

Most buses are held up at around 5-7pm becasue my 934  runs in 2's which is quite rare same for the 935 buses

Service 97/A blue diamond i give up with them now as they cut the journeys short to Digbeth to avoid Moor Strret which is quite annoying, carnt there be a way for cars to get around as they are the problem on moor street ::)

I'm sure the 46** no longer operate the 900, or they didn't briefly because the gearboxes were damaged from a speed bump at the Airport. It was known to crack the gearboxes only in the 46** Tridents.

It was taken about 2 months ago at around 17:30. The only buses not in use were in the seperate maintenance building
