I never use CrossCountry to get to Manchester, you're always much better off changing at Crewe for a Northern service

Please provide dates and costs to reinforce this as from what I can see it's more expensive going via crewe, or even doing WLV to Crewe then crewe to MAN separately

PS never use the train line, they are the most expensive way to buy a ticket

Trainline do split ticketing now. I've managed to get an off peak return for £26.00 from Wolverhampton to Manchester Piccadilly

So no splitting for off-peak tickets or advance, but a ticket valid on every single train and you can save nearly £10.90. I can even save a bit more by splitting again at Tamworth!

Are you unable to buy an advance single - if you know what time you need to be there for? £38.60 advance single on the 11:03 from BHM.

Type training is required for the new MANS I see. How does the electric conversion change the way in which it should be driven compared to when it was diesel operated?

When they do start to go some of the Omnilinks could possibly be replaced by Double Decks to maybe.

I didn't realise some omnilinks are 14 years old. Considering they withdrew the Volvos which are only 1 year older it wouldn't surprise me if they started withdrawing the early ones in a year or so

Shame that the deckers don't seem to be used on the X20 or Banbury services that much. Seems they are dominant on the P&R and 2 service. I know a decker comes off p&R at end of day and runs an x20 service. Also seems they are good at allocating the exact same vehicle to the exact same board every day
