No it didn't enter service. It was painted in WMT livery as the others, but rejected I think because Optare had dismantled and rebuilt it for developing the Spectra.
Cheers, the reason I ask is that I have it down as 'seen' though obviously many years ago would this be possible? or an error in my file  :-\ ? The only one I did not see according to my records was 3056  ???

3107 was delivered to Miller Street along with all of 3098 to 3124 and stored there for a few months over legal wrangles. All of the others eventually entered service, but by the time they did Optare had bought the rights to all of MCWs designs and wanted a Metrobus to work on a new design. 3107 was deemed to be the worst of the batch and was rejected by TWM so Optare took it for development work in 1/90.

After Optare had finished with it they sold it (1/92) to Capital Citibus in London who put it to work on LT routes. Capital Citibus was acquired by First Group and they transferred it to First Manchester in 1/02 and allocated it to Oldham (fleetnumber 5481, then 30381).

In 6/05 it rejoined a large batch of WMPTE metrobuses when First donated it to the Tsunami appeal, along with several TWM also donated. It has been unreported since

Thanks Tony, is that because its being kept in service

Probably just because there are PB Geminis more in need of a repaint which are taking priority. 4480 has had the blue touched up where the old 33 branding was along the bottom and is reasonably smart, compared the the one in service with three white panels along the lower nearside which must be due to go to Walsall soon, it looks a right mess!

The 002 is good-worst probably 904, 37 or 10/10H

Yeh, I've been waiting a couple of months for a 904, none has shown in all that time :-)

We further express our serious concern about the future of the 'Earlsdon Clock'
roundabout and the junctions affected should a bendy-bus be used on this route and call on Coventry City Council to protect the 'clock roundabout' in Earlsdon and to formally oppose the use of a bendy-bus on route 12."

http://epetitions.coventry.gov.uk/closed-or-rejected-epetitions/closed-epetitions/%E2%80%98no%E2%80%99-to-a-bendy-bus-on-route-12-through-earlsdon/

As Bendi-buses actually use a smaller envelope of road space than a rigid 12m single deck, with a much smaller rear overhang swing I don't see what the problem is as Mercs are currently used sometimes on the 12.

Have a look at the state of the rear corners on the Citaros, then have a look at rear corners of the O405s you will see far more dents and bumps on the O405s as they are far more prone to hitting obstructions on tight turns.

If you look at the bottom of that page you have put a link on you will see Coventry CC are happy with the assurances received from National Express. I think that tells you something about how daft the petition was

Thanks for the information. I am quite looking forward to when its finished and seeing how it turns out.

Also, is it correct that there will always be a bus awaiting departure at its designated stop? i think that's what i read, but couldn't really make it out.

If it does happen on the 22nd July!

The bus stop rules are that a bus can have up to 5 minutes layover on any stop, so no, there will not always be a bus on the stop, as only a couple of routes run on that frequency.

Having a bus always waiting would be the same as parking a bus up all day, increasing every routes PVR by one. I don't think any of the West Midlands operators could afford to do that. Even worse would be routes like the 16 which have about 8 stops in the city, so you would need 8 buses parked up all day!

Quote682 on the 128

Bet that was a fun journey for anyone on board!  ;D

Someone on the NXWM Facebook page claims they saw a Walsall Omnilink on the 128 one morning last week, WB must be short of buses or something!

I don't think so, if Walsall were to loan WB a bus it would be a B6 or Gemini to make sure drivers could actually drive it, remember Walsall are having to borrow Omnilinks in at the moment!

Don't worry, I found it hard to believe myself, but WB did operate Omnilinks previously, and this certain guy did state that it was 1883 showing 128 at 7:12am on Friday. Unless he was very much mistaken!  ;D

Of course, a certain 'someone' over there then suggested that (following also the transfer of 1908 to PE) Walsall are giving away singlde deckers... I bit my tongue so hard, it bled.  :P

7:12am! no, at that time it would be on the allocation sheets that come through to Miller Street

4766 or any other leather seated Enviro on the X51 is definately not a rare working. It is booked for a mix of Enviros & Geminis

Come on! Theyre over 20 years old! Some have had hard lives in London/Rossendale behind them and they are fast and good buses. yes, they could be better maintained. The thing is its strange in this day and age to see bus racing etc because most drivers simply do not care!!

Noooo. Most drivers do care, that is why you don't see buses racing very often!

Pensnett is over capacity at the moment. Many buses have to be parked in the roadway at night. So the additional land will be used to correct this and provide adequate car parking for staff. Also some of the reserve fleet I am told will be stored here. Makes sense. Good security provided by the trading estate. Plus I also hear that engineering support are also to have a base here. The Sandwell review could be used to alter the 127/8 82 and what have you in which case it wouldn't be difficult to close Oak Ln and redistribute the routes in much the way Karl has described.

Thanks for the update Matt, are engineering support the department that do major engineering work & refurbs?

Yes

Write to the HR departments of the larger ones and ask, if you live in WS10 you could get to NXWM; Arriva & Rotala at least

(HR=Human Resources beofre anyone asks)
