Yes, the X1 gets packed but very few people do the full run to Coventry, not enough to fill a single decker running every 20 minutes.

I've travelled a fair few times myself on the X1, and from my own experiences and observations, it is busiest between Birmingham city centre and Sheldon.

Maybe a peak-time frequency increase for the X2 would help instead?

I agree about increasing the X2 in peaks, if an extra X2 was placed 5 minutes before an X1 at the busiest times then the pressure for passengers going beyond Sheldon on an X1 would be reduced

Yes but where do they get from there are many routes that could do with Double Deckers such as the WA 11, 11A, 4's, 31/32, 29, 34/37 of a peak time but they don't have enough Double Deckers.

That's what I've been trying to tell him. The last couple of weeks there has been single deckers on the 937 and 997 in peak hours, so that reinforces what both of us have now said which is - Where do you get the double deckers from ?

There is more than enough double deckers spare on Sundays, even if the 4s get doubles on peak times in the week and Sunday service it would definitely improve the route and bring more customers in.

So, been waiting for a 4 since 13:10, it's now 14:08 and 3 buses have gone past not 1 has stopped mainly elderly in the bus stop too, it is a joke, all these advertisements no fuss travel by bus, it's a joke, people aren't going to want to use the buses if they don't stop, the 4 services need double deckers, they are expempt from Sandwell and Dudley bridge, they need using on the route. After todays performance National express have lost some passengers after waiting over a hour for a bus, these were elderly too, now don't get me wrong I know it's Boxing Day and there is a special service operating but when the third bus that went passed was not that full and went straight past that is a joke no excuses for that. Hopefully start to use deckers on the 4s now as they really are needed.

If double deckers were to go onto the 4 (which I doubt very much), where would the double deckers come from and even more important where would the single deckers go bearing in mind that NX has too many single deckers anyway

Yes, it's unacceptable that the GPS on 1874 is out slightly so doesn't track correctly.

With regards to the last point. It left the last timing point at Beeches Road (due 15:11) at 15:11:22 according to the Satnav built into the drive-cam unit and arrived at the stop by Old Walsall Road at 15:17.40. Bustimes then records it at Scott Arms at 15:17:45 when it is directly opposite the stop, but by the time it had got up to the U-turn and back to the actual stop at the Scott Arms it was 15:22:10 (50 seconds early). This is why the 'Late running thread should only have things people have actually seen, not just watching a screen

I wasn't just watching a screen, my wife was on another bus hoping to swap to the 28 which in the end wasn't possible, I was on the phone with her tracking it on bus times. Whilst i take what you said with my apologies do not assume that I was just looking at a screen !

According to bus times 1874 on the 28 doing the 1409 from Heartlands to Scott Arms running an average of 4 minutes early between Tameside Drive and The Crossways, it arrived at Scott Arms at 15.18 which was 5 minutes early.
Surely this is unacceptable.

If the 74 is going to be sprint2 why not invest in bus lanes along the whole A41 surely this will speed up journeys

6820 not tracking on the 907

Hi Simon, could you please tell me why 40841 on the 50 service to Mayole did not serve the Selfridges stop or the stop after it. He drove past the first stop, I ran to the second stop opposite the Bull Ring and he drove past that one as well and pointed to the NX bus at the stop, totally unacceptable. He wasn't even late !

As the 61XX and 22XX could probably still be in service in 2026. Guessing they will have NSA added at some point maybe?

May I ask the same question.. E buses  from 164 and above ?  is there ever a chance WB might get a new fleet one day..... They used to be permanent bridesmaids with loads
 of hand me downs back in the 80-90's
