Noticed this morning that there are a couple of S/YOG darts in the yard from shrewsbury, are these likely to enter service at cannock??

Sconehead is this the kind of things you want in this thread??

YES! Brilliant! Excellent! Jolly spiffing, wizard and all that! Youve got the idea!

arrivaaston- Ive discovered you have a similar topic for Arriva Derby depot! A good idea!

2200Bus-  This is "my" THREAD only and is hardly a sconehead85 takeover!

If the ten Cannock threads started since 15 September were in this thread a lot of useful information would be handy and not disappear down the pages. You have to go down to Page 4 to find all the Cannock stuff.  It appears to be a depot with a lot happening and if all posts were put here it would never vanish from page 1-it could be the topmost thread in the Arriva section!  Get posting all yer Cannocky stuff here!

arrivaaston- As it says on the label -ALL aspects of the depot, routes, vehicle allocation, coming and goings, the resident mouse etc. About ten threads could be consolidated into this one.  There are similar threads already for other Arriva garages, so why not Cannock? Like a one-stop shop, if you follow my meaning.

Hang on a minute folks, this is about Scanias, the last significant step entry saloon group within Arriva TGM.

Banks won't touch buses?? http://thebuspeople.co.uk/?p=1358

There are exceptions to every rule, but the bits First are selling off are not profitable. This Nottingham example is not a management buy out or a 1990s style Employee Share Ownership Plan, which the banks wont touch.  If you have to borrow to buy out a poor. performing bus operator the manager will show you the door.   First wants full whack, and so do the banks.

Speaking of FIRST GREYHOUND, the correct term may be "put to sleep".

Forget management buyouts- they require bank loans and the banks wont touch bus companies.  An existing larger company takeover is the best bet.

3422 has left Arriva North East, and 3490 is with TGM Network Stansted AFAIK.  The retention of 3415 is a surprise given that step entry single decks are almost extinct with Arriva TGM.

There is a picture of 3419 on flickr, taken 1st November.  3468/89 are listed as withdrawn on this sites fleet list.  3419, in the flickr pic is quoted as being the last step entrance Scania in service with Arriva Midlands (apart from 3415). Which ones have ACTUALLY BEEN SEEN in service?

These SHOULD be 53016-23. I wish First would put ALL Optare Solos in the 53xxx range, apart from the 59xxx hybrids.

Upon further reading I mistook ADL Enviros for Volvo B7s-sorry!

The Enviros look like being 44511-5, but there are 6 Optare Solos MX56 NL?, CN06 BXH, VX57 CYO, CN07 KZK/L/M.  These COULD be 53016-21, but it needs confirming.  There is another twist to the tale of these exc-Veolia buses.  Despite being on a Midland fleet list, the allocation of the CN07s is given as CHELMSFORD, which aint in the Midlands!

First / Acquired vehicles fleet numbers?
November 19, 2012, 10:17:46 PM
A number of Optare Solos and Volvo B7 saloons have been acquired according to UK Buses Fleet List.  What are their numbers please?

The B7s may be 66690 descending, but the Solos could be 53016-39 range (except 53028/34/5).  Any info greatly appreciated!

First / First/National Express swap idea?
November 19, 2012, 10:12:26 PM
Here is a thought regarding First and National Express.  This would not reduce First's fleet.

I think it might be an idea for First to acquire NX Dundee's base in exchange for either Leicester or Potteries.  This would give First a presence in the four main Scottish cities, and strengthen NX in the Midlands, where First are pulling out.

Just a wee thought!

peter123-  Its supposed to have cost Rotala more than they bargained for.  Preston is the only Rotala operation with step-entry buses to eliminate.
