Quote from: 2206 on September 25, 2023, 07:58:26 PMBartley Green/Quinton to Chelmsley is the 94/95 and 23/24 merged. Could see it just replacing them.

It could probably be up to a couple of years before some of these are introduced I would guess. Which won't be until bus lanes, amendments to junctions/bus stops etc have been introduced. By which time the tridents on the 97 will probably have been withdrawn.

I'm not sure what tridents have to do with what I asked. If they were to replace well-used and long-standing routes completely they'd have to be very reliable and frequent.

I'm sure I've asked this before but are these cross City routes definitely replacing some regular routes or running alongside them?

I'd have thought the latter really with the regular service maybe dropping slightly in frequency.

6880 - X22 California,  Barnes Hill.

X21 and X22 all over the place again today, massive traffic buiid up along Arthur Road and Edgbaston Park Road. No X21s to Bartley Green between 4:20 and 5:40 by the looks of it, and currently 3 X22s stuck not far from each other outbound.
Not sure what the answer is to be honest but that right turn from Edgbaston Park Road to Church Road needs banning, or at least temporarily during peak hours as it slows everything down inbound.

Saw plenty of 61E and 63Es in town earlier. Guessing more Selly Oak fun.

Before anybody moans, this is just hypothetical curiosity, but would it be possible for any of the stops between Bartley Green and Merry Hill on the 002 to be missed out by the X21 making it limited stop along that section?

Managed to ride the Electroliner today on the 16A into City, first time I've been on any electrics or test vehicles. Seemed quite smooth but not too much different to the other streedecks. What was interesting was the display upstairs showing time, power used and battery, which was at about 48% lol.

6858 was the same on X21 to Bartley Green this evening.

Quote from: Stu on September 10, 2023, 06:29:12 PMI don't expect that the HS2 works will be that disruptive to bus services.

It'll be the Metro works, next one to cause chaos will be when they have to close Moor Street Queensway to lay the tracks across it.

Hopefully that will be scheduled and planned to take place next summer during the school holidays when it will cause least disruption.

Sorry, yes, I mixed them up. Hopefully any diversions needed for that will be well communicated before time.

Quote from: GoldenSquid on September 10, 2023, 04:06:00 PMYes but today wasn't because of that. There was a very small section of road that got resurfaced.

Oh right, fantastic.

Thank you for the info. I guess we can expect more of this with HS2 works continuing.

X21 and X22 on diversion in City Centre, missing out Moor St and Priory Queensway in both directions and New St inbound. Assuming 61/63 is the same.

Quote from: Jack on September 05, 2023, 02:12:44 PMSo is the X21 but apparently it needs renumbering...

Actually I said if either needs renumbering it would be the X21 in response to someone else's comment about renumbering the 002.

Yes people know where the X21 goes too but it is getting a variation whereas the 002 isn't. 21/21A would identify the two different routes on a Sunday better than both being called X21 similar to the 16/16A.

I never said it had to, it was a suggestion. There's no need to be snarky.

Quote from: 2206 on September 05, 2023, 11:05:32 AMThen there'd be 2 25's at Merry Hill.

U21/21 or X21/21 would make more sense than X21/002 I think. As other than the bit between Newman University and Weoley Castle they should be the same route.

Why wouldn't 002 make sense? It's been running for years, pretty sure it's well known where the 002 goes.

002 is fine.
