When a bus is named and subsequently withdrawn down the line, will the name transfer to a different vehicle, or is that it finished. Did 1834 get 4601's name? I  can't remember.
I guess this would be thought of by a few on here in the coming weeks when one in particular is definitely going. Also for your own bus Tony. You've had the honour given to you, but the geminis probably haven't got all that long left themselves.

1834 did indeed inherit 4601's name. As did 4780 when 4781 was withdrawn. Another instance - albeit not a withdrawal - was 6832 gaining the name off 4884.

I do think it varies by circumstance. Equally, there has been occasions where name plaques have not transferred onto other vehicles on withdrawal.

4810 also de-vaulted and stripped of ticket equipment. Undergoing MOT prep today, so should be presented some time this week.

4808/12/25/28 have had their day. Ticket equipment removed today.

An electric was out and about on Handsworth Wood road this morning circa 08:30. Assume this was for driver familiarisation. No fleet branding or fleet number so unable to ID.
Most likely E165 or E170.

That'll be E165. E144 had been down here for driver training the past two days, but had left this morning.

E170 has been parked up for a while.

I've been reliably informed that E188 has had its vinyls applied today. Moreover, it also carries 'first responder' stickers (much like in London & Manchester) above the doors; I presume this'll be the standard on all EVs from here on.

we use see a lot of engine fires, then fire suppression kits were added to engine bays, may be time for for fire suppression kits for saloons too. Public buildings its legal requirement, may be should be for buses to.

The fire suppression system in the engine bays work by displacing the oxygen in the atmosphere - with pressurised gas denser than air; eliminating one element of the combustion triangle (oxygen, heat, and a fuel source)

This type of fire suppression wouldn't be so practical in a saloon, as the density of the gas could lead to suffocation (for instance, if the vehicle wasn't evacuated in time). A sprinkler system may be more practical than this type of fore suppression, although it wouldn't do the internal electrics much good either.
