National Express West Midlands / 4453 being towed today
November 27, 2012, 01:52:50 AM
4453 was being towed back to depot today on the back of a mansfield truck, even though it may have specialy priority as its in the hertiage livery but this bus is always kept in pristine condition on the outside and from the inside of what i can see hardly ever any mud/dirt or grime to be seen on the livery and is a credit to the NX Coventry fleet even if it had an off day today and broke down.

I caught the 9 today and with the train service between snow hill and kidderminster suspended and everyone being diverted onto using the 9/120/127 i was wondering were extra buses put on the 9 service especially. At 17:30 there must have been 500+ people waiting for the 9 service and 3 double deckers couldnt cope with the demand with a 9E behind that got full straight away all 4 buses left rammed with well over 100+ left waiting. There was alot of 9E buses terminating at Halesowen just wondered if they were extra buses put on to cope with the demand as most people wanted Stourbridge so the buses never really emptied from Birmingham.

National Express West Midlands / Virgin (super) voyager
November 19, 2012, 06:45:10 PM
I noticed today when travelling from Coventry to Wolverhampton that one of the carriages coach D has a different seat layout which is normally found in standard class as it was tables only with the usual 4 seats arrangement also the seat coverings were of a different pattern in blue with velcro on top of the seats. I think this carrriage used to be first class and converted into standard class. Just wondered if what i presumed is correct and are so all voyagers have this a downgraded coach like this as maybe before there used to be 2 first class coaches just wondering, thanks.

Rotala / Buses/Coaches for Sale
November 05, 2012, 08:11:31 PM
Just looked on ebay and diamond are selling 9 dennis dart including fleetnumbers 31479-31483 at £4995.00 each from a seller in Aldridge.

I noticed today a yourbus dart is parked up at Long Acre has this bus been brought of Long Acre to be used on diamond services. Shame diamond dont take some of 52 reg darts of yourbus which are up for sale as they did once have them in their fleet would be good to upgrade some services from the older darts currently being used and they look well looked after with only having a recent interior trim.

30218 is on the 4 this evening but displaying the 404E as it doesnt seem to have the 4 service programmed into it same with 30216 on the 40 showing the 410 instead. The ex ludlow vehicles apart from 20525 and the centros still have the old route numbers programmed into them and have no new services stored on their displays but seem to have a different kind of display and no the usual hanover's ones is this the reason for them not having the new services put on them.

So this will be the first review to eliminate its area coding totally in the Sandwell area although services like the 424 and 425 remain the main bulk of the 4XX services will vanish from our streets to be replaced by a 'simpler and easier to understand numbering system'.  Although I guess the 400 service will reappear for the sandwell shows when there not rained off. So I wonder if there will be many enthusiasts around West Bromwich on the 27th October taking what will be the last photos of the old numbering system for many services.

Does anyone know if the return tickets will still continue on the current 404/A/E/H/ services and 405 when the changes take place on sunday? This is regarding both NXWM and diamonds return tickets.

National Express West Midlands / Drivers
October 14, 2012, 02:21:04 AM
I was wondering with all the withdrawals that blue diamond are making what will happen to all there drivers that used to drive the 37/97 or service like the 679 that is going to black diamond. Is it likely they will move to black diamond where its likely more drivers are needed for the approaching sandwell review.

The Archive / Are blue diamond short of buses
September 19, 2012, 06:30:32 PM
It seems blue diamond are regulary loaning buses of black diamond is this becuase their short of buses but i dont see how this can be as they have recieved quite a few solo's recently and when the 37's frequency was reduced some of the darts from their were freed up unless some of the older blue diamond vehicles were in such a bad state they have had a mass withdrawal prompting a shortage of vehicles.

National Express West Midlands / Mercedes 0405N
August 21, 2012, 10:05:30 PM
How come from 1560-1594 these buses are all S reg buses and then from 1595-1606 is goes back to R reg mercs then from 1607-1627 back to S reg. Was this down to when the buses were actually delivered and impacted on how they were registered.

On the side of some of the class 323 trains there seems to be an orange box which i dont think is a light as some have been removed i just wondered if this was an electronic destination display in the past and dont get used now or if im totally wrong what was their purposes.

The Archive / Red paint fading on NXWM buses
August 07, 2012, 10:37:56 PM
Someone on here mentioned about omnilink 1861 about the red and the front of the bus turning slightly pink, I saw this bus a couple of days ago and must agree all the red at the front of the bus and the two sides seems to have faded and some parts the paint seems to have come off, is this due to what the buses are washed in, in terms of chemicals or just wear over time as the other omnilinks seem to be fine and 1861 seems to have gone like this.

This is probably the most stupid post ever but was just thinking what if there was a black country version of the outercircle linking all major towns in the area. For example Walsall-Wednesbury-West Bromwich-Dudley-MerryHill-Stourbridge-Halesowen-Blackheath-Oldbury (Birchley Island) express to Wolverhampton (via Wolverhampton Road) then express to Walsall loops back round to Wednesbury. This was just a 5 minute thought so the places could be changed and order adjusted but would link places together like Walsall and Merry Hill 7 days a week and a new link between West Brom and Stourbridge. It could be operated by a variety of garages like Wolverhampton, Pensnett, West Bromwich and Walsall using a mixture of buses or brand new buses if sucessfully worked after a trial. Using a 10 minute frequency. Doubt anything like this would happen in the sandwell review lol. Im waiting for the negative comments  :-\
