5401 fresh back from conversion is on the 6 now, (did a 1 this morning for it's first job)

Really enjoy reading your posts on the various groups regarding these 54xx E400H's being repowered @Tony at EYMS , but for the more technical minded people like myself, is anyone able to provide a complete list of what's been done so far?

I know 5409 has the standard Enviro 6cyl engine in her, but I believe 5401, 02, 03, 05 and 12 have retained the original 4cyl engine, is this correct?

Awesome cheers Winston.  :)

So there's only going to be 4 branded Streetlites for the 31/32 service? I take it that only the 13 plate B7's are being returned off lease and the 62 plate ones are sticking around?

What's the proposed cascading program for the 21 19/69 plate Platinums at YW that these electrics will presumably displace?

@Tony once an E400 is upgraded to Euro6, are there any exterior differences?

For those that don't know me, I work in a frontline Ops Management role overseeing service delivery, personnel and assets. I was also born here and try to visit once a year.

As always I pay close attention to the vehicle movements and their allocations.

It's apparent that NXWM has surplus Platinums spread across the network, clearly evident at AG, BC, PB and WA.

Is anyone in the 'know' aware if NXWM has given consideration to rounding up these surplus buses and platinumising another route that had a lower PVR?

Also the taboo topic of route branding - it's gone absolutely bonkers here in the last 2 years. Passengers just wanted a reliable and efficient bus network. I can understand the requirement for branding partnership services such as 31/32 and 42/43 but is all this excessive route branding really necessary, do the people who make these decisions on route branding actual get out and observe buses in the real world? It must cause headaches for traffic and engineering staff alike and create mileage imbalances across fleets.

PB is an example.... they have E400's branded for the 7, 16, 33 and the 101 and multiple times daily I've seen buses on the incorrect routes...would it not make greater sense to remove the branding and replace it with material that is designed to increase patronage and bus ridership.

Be interested to hear people's thoughts on this, topical debate.

There's a platinum on the 11A, seen on Marsh Hill lane a short time ago.

The positive publicity being generated that 4601 and any subsequent heritage/retro liveries NXWM are planning will be absolutely incredible amongst all enthusiast and non enthusiast folk.

Gotta applaud NXWM Managers and people like Tony Hunter for making these special liveries actually eventuate.

Special mention should also go to the WA body shop for their commitment, expertise and dedication in their work rebuilding and then repainting 4601.

Fingers firmly crossed 4601 gets a DPF kit fitted so she's Brum compliant and gets the exposure that she deserves.

4179 now has advert removed

Bashed 4179 on an outbound 14 yesterday, absolutely hellfire...plenty of power and made all the right noises. 18years old and not a single rattle. True quality units.

The worn Red Bull advert gave it some character.

As a side note....do BC run their Euro 4 Tridents on a Saturday?
