Title: Standees
Post by: Sandy Lane on January 12, 2025, 03:32:24 PM
Only recently spotted a notice in the NXC electric deckers about how far forward standing passengers can travel. It is quite a distance back from the driver. The notice is approx. opposite the offside emergency exit so there doesn't seem to be much space for standees downstairs bearing in mind the step before the rear axle.

Could see any other notice showing exactly how many standees are allowed like you see in older buses?

Not really, that's the spec for the 'new' Enviro400EV, not the same as the BYD versions that NX have.

And the 'new' E400EV has rear facing seats over the rear wheels in the lowers saloon, to be used as foot rests. The BYD version has an improved seating layout, having removed the anti social option of using seats as foot rests, with all forward facing seats.

The BYDs downstairs seating layout makes the Omnilink seating layout feel premium!

Their seating arrangements are a disgrace, much much worse than an Omnilink. Especially for services like the X1.

Are you referring to the low seating capacity ?

How is it worse when a BYD E400EV has more seats than a Scania OmniLink?

Have people suddenly forgotten there's a whole 'upstairs' where they might find an available seat?

- Claustrophobic towards the back
- Lack of legroom on many of the seats
- Lack of headroom
- Seats at the front, do they hold 1 person per seat or 2?  nobody seems to truly know
- So many of the 26 seats downstairs end up under utilised because of the bad interior design
- The layout causes a 'dwell' of passengers standing towards the front that do not want to go upstairs

The front seats are single seats
