32227, was parked on a stand in West Bromwich bus station, unloading after 45 service and front lights was flashing (flickering). This could be dangerous if somone thinks the driver is flashing them out of a junction. It's gone back out in service too.
32325 is missing the front near side headlight cover.
Probably best to put this in the question and answer thread, since that's where's Simon checks most often.
I figured i would make a new topic as i couldnt find anything similar. Please add to another if there is one though.
I even consider myself nitpicking here but still.
Redditch
30165 - Broken Retarder (insanely loud, if you know you know)
30167 - Back seats are fully ripped, and revs semi weirdly
30169 - Gearbox takes a long time to change gears, bus redlines for at least 20 seconds.
30503 - Last time i rode it, it was constantly beeping.
30507 - Back of the bus is warm, very much overheating.
30508 - ^^
30828 - Has a blown exhaust, credit were credits due sounds insane.
30852 - Air suspension is broken, constantly goes up and down when idling.
32212 - (bar 32218) 32219 Gearbox is utter rubbish
32219 - No light coverings, and last time i was on it it broke down. Gearbox is utter rubbish.
40625 + 40626 Insane over revving at idle, heard many passengers say god this bus is loud or similar.

30852 - doubt it would be on the road with broken air suspension, if its doing this whilst idling it's could be the bus just dumping excess air and sucking air, old volvos tend to do this when idling.

It's a floor levelling problem by the sounds of it. NXWM 4500 does the same. Makes you feel like you're on a boat when stuck in traffic.

I am sure you are aware the Terms of operating vehicles means we have to have systems in place to manage the repair and maintenance of our vehicles.
It would be useful to have some context of this list. I have spoken to our engineering tonight and it is fair to say, that we have had some of these defects on the individuals buses. However, in line with our systems the vehicles have either been removed from service until they are repaired or have been repaired. A few examples would be (comments from an Engineering Supervisor).
30828 - exhaust was repaired last week first I saw of it on the vcr card I had a look and the flexi had snapped that has since been replaced
30167 - this has been off the road for over a month and half waiting for an engine so I'm unsure how this has been picked up however I'm sure the seats in this bus are fine.
It would be useful to understand how recent each of these "defects" are. It feels like this is an accumulation of things you have potentially witnessed over a period of time. If so, defects do happen in service.

Some of the NX Tridents did the same.
I thought this thread was supposed to be the equivalent of the Nx Oddities Defects etc thread for Diamond?

Yep feels weird. I can link a video if anyone would like.

It is good to hear the vehicles are getting fixed. Most of these happened over 6 months so not all may still be active but like today i was on 30169 and it still has a very slow gearbox.

Why bother reporting defects from 6 months ago, only current ones are worthwhile.
There was already a vehicle defect thread only created late last year too.
20165 is having gear issues, constantly getting stuck with the driver having to put it into neutral and back into drive
32259 still has yellow buses stickers and branding inside the bus. Still has yellow buses fleet numbers inside as well.
40714 is missing a front head light cover
It was the 15:40 from Birmingham market's to West Bromwich
40714 rear destination blind not working.
30706 - Internal display screen, displaying the delights of 'Taste Cumbria' !
30825 front destination screen blank and not working, currently on the 1020 192 from Halesowen.
40714, no working rear blinds. Also has no diamond logo on the front. And missing the vinals between the two tones of paint at the top.
20918, front logo partially missing, assuming this is from the BeeNetwork sign being over the top. Also still got black tape over the website and diamond on the side above the doors and drivers window.
20016, also still got black tape over the diamond website and diamond logo above the doors.
32261, missing the vinal where the two tones of paint meet at the top of the bus on both sides.
20164, the front blind has dropped meaning it's slanted in the front of the bus.
30302, side destination blind not working,
40826, one of the headrests a row from the back upstairs is all duct tapped up requires a new head rest, also most of the USB outer casing are missing.
30826..Do you need to have the heating turned on in this hot/warm weather?
40819..Hot air is blowing out of the air vents on the sides. Surely it should cold air should be blowing out of these vents
32307,
Side destination blind is not working, the next stop announcement screen is now showing the date, time or what route it is on and also the doors are very slow closing as if the air pressure is low they have been like this for a while now.
32129. The destination on the back of the bus is not working
32259 Still has yellow buses stickers on the inside, and 30169 and 30170 still have yourbus stickers.
32277's front destination display goes blank every few seconds.
30925, the next stop announcement screen has the wrong time and date, also the emergency glass hammer at the back of the bus is missing. The emergency glass hammer half way up on the bus near side is also missing.
32308 the horn on it is terrible and can nearly be heard
30805 the doors are faulty, the door closest to the windscreen has a part missing off the bottom on the since and the door on the other side doesn't open fully it opens a bit and then it's like it gets stuck.
32307 just been on it on the 4H the doors are still very slow closing it's a good job it does not have interlock and can pull away while doors are closing because that bus would always be delaying services. also the stopping light in the saloon is not working when stop button is pressed it does not light up.
Don't know if it's gone again or still not been fixed from April, but 30825 is on the 192 again with no front destination blinds.
30705 has this weird rattly idle at the back
20056 - front destination keeps switching on and off.
20167 rear blinds not working
20741 front blinds not working when I seen it just in West Brom.
20051 front Destination blinds playing up.
30826. The heating on this bus is always turned on full. Even when it's hot outside
32308 seen this bus today and the front headlight cover on the drivers side was missing.
32308 one of the back seats is hanging off tried to put it back on but seems to be missing a bolt, I did inform the driver of the issue.
The noise coming from the exhaust on 30923 seems to be getting louder & louder
32130 sound very rough recently.
The 2 passenger next stop screens are not displaying anything inside apart from diamond. They are not showing date time or what service it is running.
Vehicle 32326 and service 4H
20056 - destination display is constantly switching off or flickering.

On what vehicle? And on which service?
Quote from: Stu on August 05, 2024, 07:08:44 PMOn what vehicle? And on which service?
Sorry vehicle 32326 and 4H service.
32235 front Destenation blinds keep going off every so often.
i went on 30827 earlier on the 40 i noticed a few of the headrests had been replaced and a few of the actual seats have been replaced with a bit of a mixture some of them are diamond bus north west style seats some are same seats as to what 32307, 32308 and 32309 have. another thing i noticed while i was on this bus was the gears was playing up like somtimes it would get stuck in gear and somtimes would go very well but then when it was getting stuck in gears it was causing it to go slow and i think occasionally went into LIMP mode. one final thing with this bus the rear destination blind is very dim during the day you cant see it on the evening when it starts to go dark then you can start to see it..
30804 side destination blind and rear destination blind not working.
32125 step not working
32212 (SO65LRK) being towed through Wednesbury towards Darlaston in a very dilapidated state - possibly for scrap at Willenhall Commercials?
Was in service 2 days ago and only 9 years old, possibly going for repairs

Highly unlikely to be going for scrap.

Only assumption - granted, it's9 years old, though most of the nearside panels were missing and looked cannibalised.

Always a possibility with the reliability of streetlites these days....

It would only likely get scrapped if accident damaged & would cost more to repair than its value. As has previously been posted, it was only last in service two days prior.
32314 is missing its left headlight cover.
32327 is operating today on the Kidderminster 10 with blank front destination blinds.
21235 the one is quite faded at the front or one of the numbers is it also wasn't displaying the service number it was on the 310 but the front destination blind just said Wednesbury Via Darlaston
20886 no numbers displayed on the back of the bus
40838 at Selfridges bus stop at 0722 for the 0724 departure, the destination screen went blank and it left after the driver shaking his head at a passenger who wished to catch it (not realising it was 'supposedidly' not in service). But according to bus times it left Selfridges at 0736!
30813 on the 192 (I think) with no destination blinds at all.
20053 no front or rear display this morning. (The driver said the front display was working earlier in the morning.)
20159 has got blue smoke coming out of the exhaust when accelerating may only be a little but this issue could worsen, hence the reporting of it
I've pinned this thread, so it's more visible.
20161 still shows the bus as stopping after alighting when no one has pressed the bell.

You may sometimes find especially with the streetlites that if the door don't fully open then it wont clear the stopping light and the stopping bell sign on the dash.

Yeah it is and same with the streetdecks, most buses are the same.
