When the bus seated Natiinals were re engined with DAFs what year was that? Am i right in thinking the DP examples were never treated at the time? What happened were they just stored for years then refitted with Volvos? I remember Walsall having a number of them in the mid 90s...super comfortable seating that would put todays buses to shame!

A number of the DP Nationals were re-instated at Metrowest with Leyland engines initially, I think they had been in storage prior to that along with many others at Selly Oak. They were later re-engined with Volvo engines after Metrowest was closed down / before entering service with the main WM Buses fleet, I think Walsall had 1854 / 1863-5 at least. After WM finished with them, Iirc they went up to NX subsidiary Highland Country Buses in Inverness.

Thanks for the list! My recollection is that 1830 kept its DP seats and high gear ratios, at least for a while, after being fitted with a DAF engine. It was the only one I knew that was. IIRC 1818 and 1822 were refurbed with bus seats (and normal gear ratios) before re-entering service. I got to ride on the three of them sometimes when they were allocated to Yardley Wood.
