Title: Buses illustrated and buses magazines
Post by: Mayfield on December 04, 2019, 09:38:55 AM
I have a complete set of magazines dating back from mid 60's to date and various Ian Alan books from the 60's and 70's I'm looking to sell, does anyone know where I can get a valve and the best way of selling them.

I very much doubt you would be able to sell them for any more than a nomimal amount. I just give all my old magazines to one of the fundraising sites at the Severn Valley Railway, they just sell them for around 10p a time to help with restorations.

As others have mentioned, the magazines are unlikely to be worth a lot - the hobby was far more popular in the 60s and 70s so they were printed in huge numbers and are still easy to find today second hand.
The Ian Allan books of that era vary in value from one to the next. I'd have a look at the prices on eBay, amazon, abebooks etc to get an idea of what they sell for or at least the price that they are advertised for.

To be honest, I spoke to Aston Manor a couple of months ago about whether they want copies of now redundant timetable leaflets & they were interested.

I sold a few hundred books earlier this year on Ziffit, put the code in and it will tell you how much they will pay.
