Title: NX services in Staffordshire
Post by: l.murphy123 on August 08, 2019, 03:32:37 PM
Thought I'd start a thread for NX services in Staffordshire - i.e. the 10A, X3 and X51 (so far!).

Not forgetting WA 6 but why a thread is required is beyond me given anything worse discussing is probably covered in the relevant depot threads, unless this was just to list numbers!

I'm not sure why it was started without anything to say, seems very pointless and will probably be deleted

I did message you about it but got no reply. I assumed it would be a good idea to create a thread for this rsther than have discussion across the garages threads and even arriva cannock

There's bits mixed across the depot threads and even on arriva so I thought id start this thread.

Could anyone tell me if the daysaver plus still exists for the 54 to Stafford please?

I can't see any mention of it any more on the website

The cheapest way to do it is use contactless for the day, you will only be charged the normal daysaver price

What about if you already have a normal Daysaver or plan to buy one via Swift Paygo, like I'd normally do?

Then it's not valid, you need a daysaver plus

it might help if it was publicised correctly across the network. drivers don't know what it is on other routes, and not clear on buses either. the amount of problems this causes the drivers is unreal. seems rather unfair if someone in another area wants to use it thinking daysavers cover all nx buses. then expecting them to pay again. why does contactless or mobile app get it normal prices

I'm sure Tony will correct me, but the Daysaver Plus was introduced to help the 54 break even.

Does this mean the 10A, X3 & X51 are breaking even?

I suspect that all the mentioned services are breaking even. Although the X51 does seem to carry very well outside the boundary.

To be fair, that should be helping Arriva up to a point as well.

Yes id guess the 63 and 26 to Hednesford/Rugeley but I dont use them so have no idea. The X51 has got lots of Landywood users out of trouble in my village. A big increase in people asking on my community group how much it is for a day saver etc.

The X3 bus stop at Lichfield bus station has glass (well, plastic), a timetable and branded vinyls. It's the neatest stand there!

National Express deciding the best thing to do is tart it up themselves to give people somewhere decent to shelter

Shame they don't do the same thing in Water Orton; Warwickshire, x70 bus stops still say 590 on them. Mind you in relation to focus on the east ;)

Absolutely, shame they can't do the 10A the same, but they share a stand. If they all marketed their own bus stops it would look better. Diamind and Select share one for the 35, 36. Midland Classic have two, Arriva have two and give NX two. One spare for waiting.

We was sharing the same stand as the 10A when we first starting going to Lichfield on the X3. We were then moved back to our current stand a while after

There cant be much call for a stafford to wolves bus. Staffords whole network appears to be one of managed decline
