And a good amount of mileage for that price too

Already planning a trip on it once it's available, it covers the whole X51 and 54/54A too, according to the NXWM Twitter when I asked them.

This was launched yesterday at First Adderley Green depot. 6942 was in attendance for the photo shoot I hear.

Considering Staffs CC's previous cuts to public transport funds (obviously not entirely their fault, central government cuts etc...) this is interesting
There's mention that it includes Swadlincote but if @StourValley98 is correct then I wonder if it also includes say the Arriva 70 into Wolves
Only £7 as well, not bad that, only a little bit more than the Arriva Midlands ticket

So you could go to stoke for £7 + around that area from Walsall/Wolverhampton

Can this ticket be used on trains then?

No.

So lets see if I've got this right then.

I can get on an Arriva 1 or 2 or a NX X51 in Bloxwich for £7 a day & I could go to Stoke!

I could go out on the first bus as well!

Yes, I believe so. I'd double check with Arriva, but if NXWM have said it's valid on the full X51, then it should be just as fine on the 1 or 2.

Bit confused here.

If this is a bus only ticket, what is it doing in the railway section of the forum?

Surely it should be in buses General Discussion?

I have already moved it to a more appropriate section. ;)

Just had another look at NX's Twitter feed.  The Knot only can be purchased within the boundaries of Staffordshire according to NXWM.  So, if you are travelling into Staffordshire you'd need to either have a pass, Daysaver or Single ticket to cover you to the Staffordshire border, then purchase The Knot once the bus is in Staffs.

They previously told me it's valid on the whole X51 route?

See the area map here: https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/transport/publictransport/buses/Plan-your-journey/Staffordshire-Knot-A4-Posters-Map.pdf

The map shows the boundary points where the Knot is valid to.

So that means use my Nbus to Newtown (past Bloxwich), then jump up & pay then surely?

Has anyone actually done that on a bus that crosses ticket boundaries or is there a 'workaround'?

(In other words, pay / show pass to the boundary & pay for the other ticket at the same time? Or is that not technically possible?)

Yes you would have to have nbus or another type of ticket to the Staffordshire Boundary. On the X3 we can only sell the Knot Ticket after Watford Gap until Lichfield so I imagine its the same for the X51 when it crosses the border

Are these Knot tickets valid to buy in Wombourne/Swindon (on the 15/16)?

The Walsall NWM map (http://static.centro.org.uk/documents/nwm/Map-Guides/Walsall-WEB.pdf) seems to indicate with it's yellow/brown shading that nBus/nNetwork is valid for a short distance beyond the WM border along the Stafford Road, at least to the first Staffordshire bus stop where you can buy The Knot.

Which should be The Ivyhouse pub I think?

Wasn't it the Kernel Café in days gone by?

Whatever it is, it's the first bus stop after the Turnberry!

The Worcestershire Connecta ticket is technically only valid from the first stop over the border on the 147, I purchased one years ago when it was the 007 and the driver just sold it me from the Bus Station anyway, so presumably the ticket machine (at the time at least) was able to produce the ticket before it's valid

Cannot be purchased on an X51 in Great Barr, just found that while trying to buy the Daysaver Plus for the 54

How difficult is it to arrange it, so you can purchase the Knot on a Wm county starting journey, as long as the journey ends in Staffordshire?

(And the same goes for the equivalent TfWm / Swift ticket too, purchasing on a Staffs starting journey, that finished in the Wm!)

So I could purchase the Knot at the Scott Arms & get off at Cannock, with no journey break before reaching The Ivyhouse, so you could break your journey at Great Wryley, & continue to Cannock on a later bus, but you couldnt do the same at Bloxwich!
