Wonder what/if anything will replace the 255/7 ?
Probably combining of 255/6/7 regisrations?
Maybe obtaining the 257 from arriva?

It's a cancellation notice of the NX service so wouldn't be that (plus the 257's eve/sun tender isn't up for renewal yet).
My first thought was exactly what
@the trainbasher has said further up the page.
It's strange that, when the 256 was last changed in May 2015, the registration number was PD0001111/57. If you look on the Traffic Commissioners Bus Registration Search site for that registration number, it no longer exists, and there is no other registration number for the 256. Therefore, I agree with The Trainbasher and Nathan that this is a consolidation exercise and registration number 57 will reappear and be used for services 255, 256 and 257.

255/256/257 are being combined onto one registration, was looking at the EBSR for it yesterday. Those and the 54/154 change are due to Pipers Row closure so looks like they will exit the bus station via the bus lane alongside the Ring Road then go up Broad Street instead of using Lichfield Street.

maybe 255/257 to another garage
Maybe they are withdrawing it not many people from Wolves have ever gone to Merry Hill, look how long the X1 lasted. Does anybody use it on here who could say if the number of people useing it is down, the same for the 257 there's not a lot in Dudley is the usage in Dudley down.

It has been mentioned above that they are being combined onto one registration.

@Nathan glad someone does actually read my occasional posts! I am lucky that I have access to certain registrations at work and this is one I have seen. Will have another look on Monday to double check but was pretty sure I wasn't seeing things!

PN / WN 714 - Service reduced to 1 journey in each direction
WN 794 / 794A - Timetable revised. 794A is withdrawn
To some the answer to this question might seem blindingly obvious, but what does it mean to "combine registrations" when it comes to routes? I'm assuming the above mentioned routes (255/256/257) are not just being withdrawn entirely.
I can see why the 77 timetable is being reduced. I had the last bus from Sutton, 7:05pm, and no one got on until just outside Walsall. There was a 934 just behind me so they could have easily got on that. The last trip from Walsall also empty, only picked up on the Sutton Road and after New Oscott

Yeah, its busy during the day with pensioners and evenings with school kids but then it dies. Would love it to come back to WA

Even in the daytime yesterday, it was quiet. Had no more than 15 people on at any one time. My first bus from Sutton, 11.55am was empty from Sutton, never picked anyone up till New Oscott.
I've had it on a weekday at school time, and it's a completely different route after they all leave school
A great dead run back from Walsall, I had 33 minutes to get back, done it in just over 15. Roads were empty and flew through Scott Arms. With the timetable changes, I don't think any finish in Walsall now. I think they finish at New Oscott from Walsall and Bridle Lane from Sutton

That 25 minute dropback is nice around 2/3 o clock in Walsall if you still get it? Saturday times used to be a joke, used to get hammered with barely any dropback

You do still get that dropback when the PM extra bus comes on around that time.
I was 32 minutes late coming off my first bus yesterday. New Oscott seemed worse than usual, queuing from Banners Gate one way and the island on Jockey Road the other. Just 5 minutes dropback at either end too so not much chance to catch up. Was surprised when my second bus turned up bang on time without adjustment from AVL
