Which is better and why , appreciate any views
IMO the Crimson livery probably best one out there to suit the body design, platinum would look great.

Streetdeck for me, I like the MMC'S but they're nothing compared to the streetdecks

MMCs look nicer but Streetdeck build quality is better.
Streetdeck all the way, a lot more smoother and let's be honest Wright are way better than Adl recent builds
I've got to be honest, I'm not too keen on either, I'm more a fan of their predecessors (normal Enviro 400 & (what would it be for Wright, erm...) Gemini (probably)). Wright probably just edges it for me, I see their buses as more robust
Havnt drove either, but prefer the look of the Streetdeck.
Am I the only person who prefers the Enviro 400 MMC?
I prefer the Mmcs, I just wish they were voith.
sorry but to me the Streetdecks look a whole lot better than the MMCs, lets hope NE purchase some more!
Our E400MMC's in both specs are a nice place to be. But the Streetwreckers give me more fizz.
The MMCs are dangerously sluggish pulling away, doors slow and useless mirror arms that flap about as your driving ! Nice as a passenger but terrible to drive! After driving one for the first time in a month you really appreciate how sluggish they are to older buses. Once they get moving they're quick enough but stop start they really are bad!
As by looking at photos..
Wright Streetdeck - I think it has the looks, very shiny and the body itself would last longer, but the engine is a big let down!
Enviro 400MMC - Looks nice, but the Streetdeck looks a lot better in my point of view, a lot better engines and very fast!
The Streetdeck is certainly not a sluggish bus. Powerful up hills - from what i could tell; not very rattly compared to the now-year-old MMCs.
On another note, the MMCs does not compromise in space; very roomy overall around the lower saloon, something which I think the Streetdeck lacks (just ever so slightly) - even though the MMC has two specs to decide from!
A 5 litre engine is still bloody stupid in a decker though. Or less they have a kickdown and a bit more oomph in them?
The street decks are great buses, my favourite buses to drive at Worcester, it's just a shame we only have 4. I'd love it if the 144 got a street deck upgrade. The upstairs windows looked a bit odd at first but now I think it gives it a streamlined look, for some reason reminds me of buses in the USA! I have never driven at enviro 400 but if they are anything like the 200s which I have driven then the street deck is superior in every way.
Reading the westbromwich garage newsletter the other nite I notice a pic of a streetdeck on the back so I start reading, it appears management are well happy with the performance and the look of these buses, they look forward to working with WRIGHTBUS again. Looks like more streetdecks then.
This is welcome news, as much as I like the MMC's from a passengers point of view it will be nice to see more of these wrightbuses. If anything to add more variety to the modern fleet (euro 5 up).
I don't like the look of the street deck, but I don't like the on/off feature the mmc's have, but if i had to choose I'd choose the mmc
I have only driven the MMCs, they are a vast improvement on the E400s. The stop / start isnt a problem to me, it's more annoying having to keep putting the handbrake on every time I want to open / shut the doors. The announcements are good from my point of view, saves me having to remember to remind passengers of their stops and is brilliant for telling smokers to stop.
I prefer the look of the Streetdecks and as
@j789 says it has a streamlined look which I like and the more curved roof. However 6148 (without the rear adverts) looks much better to the other MMCs...
At least I'm not the only one who actually likes the looks of the StreetDeck

I think the StreetDecks look brilliant they suit the livery perfectly.

Couldn't agree more Dom. That said I personally think the platinum livery suits the MMC400. Out of the two think that for me the Streetdeck just gets the edge.....
In my opinion ADL designs are safe and easy on the eye. Wrightbus designs are far more innovative and controversial and can take some time getting used to, but stand the test of time far, far better (e.g. Gemini vs ALX00). When I first saw the latest 'Gemini 3' angular design I really wasn't sure but I really like it now. Would like to see more new Wrightbus products in the NX fleet.

This is absolutely spot on
I'd say the E400 MMC is much better, mainly because of the looks, but I haven't actually been on a Streetdeck to judge its ride quality and it could be better.

The only complaint about the streetdeck is the other day 3302 I think- the ticket machine was badly rattling whilst stationary.
The PN mmcs vary some are sluggish some are beasts.
Do we have any results on which one is better? Fuel consumption etc??

Streetdecks
That's good news for me. Guarantee they will continue buying mmcs though...
My local route when in London (140) uses the Streetdecks, nice buses from what I can see. (Although most times always packed so never get to see much of the inside of them.

Harrow Weald don't have any Streetdecks from memory, used the 140 quite a few times in recent months, all brand new Volvo hybrids. Other than Arriva London with a few at Watford, very few Streetdecks in London so far.

I think he means the 340 which is the only route to use Streetdecks but I think a few spares are used on the 142 sometimes
I've probably getting the vehicles wrong to be fair, they look similar to those on the 9. To be fair only time use the bus in London is to get to Northolt station when have pleasure of the central line. Deffo the 140 I'm on about.

Must be Gemini III hybrids then lol. Easy mistake to make other than the Volvo badge on the front. (or is it the back)
