Title: Swalcliffe railway.
Post by: Other Walsall Tony on May 14, 2016, 08:24:12 PM
A long shot, but does anyone know anything about a miniature railway at Swalcliffe Oxon, about 5 miles from Banbury?  It can be seen from the road, but is probably private and has recently been relaid.

Tony, replying to your question about the railway in Swalcliffe seen from the 3A bus, this railway is my own private garden railway.  The first track was laid 5 years ago and it is still being constructed.   It uses a track gauge of 10 1/4" and is inspired by the "minimum gauge" railways of Sir Arthur Heywood.  It is called The Barn Well Hill Railway, it is a private railway and does not open to the public or operate commercially though we welcome visitors by arrangement.  We have a Facebook page, search for it by its name.
(BTW, it has nothing to do with the Swalcliffe Barn identified in another reply.)
