Post by: JoNi on November 29, 2015, 01:00:07 PM
The dreaded Totems have come to Coventry in Trinity Street, Earl Street and New Union Street at least!

They were putting them up in the yet to be used train station bus hub last night.

Just wait until the next service change when your posh electronic displays get covered up by a bit of sticky back plastic with service number on.

Sticky back label with 55 on it would be useful! https://www.flickr.com/gp/92409298@N06/c71803

These are different to the ones in Birmingham city centre (they're working for starters lol), are they using some kind of e-ink display?

Looks like new and more sensible bus stop codes too: TSxx for Trinity Street rather than the old AA-AD codes.

Pretty sure they're not e-ink, I would guess they're LCD.

Have to say I quite like them, though the route numbers can end up squashed together when they are 3 characters long.

I noticed the one at the 21 stop on trinity street is tracking around 2 mins behind the old display, which seems a bit strange.
