Theyve already got a version havent they?

Surely it will be a revamped 936?

The announcement from Diamond on their website did suggest that NX might revise one of their services to cover Erdington Road:

They'll probably incorporate it into the X56

How? The X56 doesn't go near Erdington Road. Surprised the X56 is still running as SCC aren't funding it anymore. 936 most likely it would seem to be rerouted.

Or indeed the 997. I know it doesn't go to Brownhills but in the Streetley - Aldridge area it's most like the 56. Potential then to extend some of the Pheasey shorts to Aldridge?

Does the 56 do the exact 936 route? Not sure as i have rode on 936 If nx takes it on maybe a 956? Maybe a few more platinum buses for it :)

Not quite, 936 does Pheasey and over Barr Beacon, 56 goes straight ahead at Kingstanding circle and serves Streetley.
And i really doubt they'd bother creating a new 956 route

Really sad the 56 is going.  It's got a long history originating from Harper of Cannock :-/

Wouldn't more Platinum's be required or are there sufficient spares at WA?

I have no idea but I cant really see them using normal buses on the kingstanding corridor.

Ok this genuinely surprises me. Is there really much need for another route up that way? Surely just increasing the current 936 and re-routing say the 997 up Erdington Road would cover it?

The difference is the amount of resources Diamond were putting in to the peak journeys which adds a lot of costs to the route. NX will be able to carry all the passengers using a lot less additional peak vehicles because of all the buses already covering parts of the route
