I have managed to acquire a job which is based at Rugeley although its quite far away, as much as I like buses, I intend to get the Train due to time although my knowledge on trains and how they run is awfully bad. A few good members of the forum have kindly offered assistance although I'm opening this up to everyone, I'll require return tickets and what are the cheapest prices I can get ?!

Does that work in conjunction with the Railcard
Last time I checked the rail map, I couldn't see a line connecting Stechford and Rugeley.

No you won't, not on peak time fares! There is a miminum charge for railcards which is more than the cost of a return ticket, Stechford-Rugeley.
Best ticket is an nTrain Z1-5 which, despite being outside the West Midlands is valid to Rugeley. nNetwork is not valid past Bloxwich North
