Title: Merger
Post by: arrifirststage on June 28, 2015, 03:24:38 PM
I read on another forum that Arriva is to merge with Arriva The Shires for operational and engineering purposes.
Presumably this will result in the Midlands fleet being re numbered into the Shires fleet scheme.
No reason is being mooted T this stage, but the usual reason is to improve the financial position of one ,or both,of the Companies involved.

Depends what you mean by nearer..........certainly North West and Wales would be nearer to Oswestry, but The Shires is closer to Leicester,Derby and the old Fox County area.
Anyway, proximity is not the major criteria..............balancing Head Offices, fleet totals and engineering centres and staffing requirements would be the important considerations........we shall see.
