Title: COVENTRY'S PLAXTON BUILT ENVIRO'S
Post by: t.w.moore on February 19, 2015, 07:27:42 PM
Did Plaxtons completley build the 10 Coventry Enviro's or did they just finish/complete the bodies on 4885-4894. Do we say Aleander Dennis Enviro with Plaxton bodies. I have tried the internet but theres nothing that tells me just what Plaxtons did. I see Alexander Dennis purchased Plaxtons in 2007, so do we say..Alexander Dennis Enviros bodied at the former Plaxton works in Scarborough.? Just how many West Midland Enviro buses were bodied/completed at Plaxton/Plaxton Works. I am writing captions for my Coventry albums and would like to get the right info.

This site should give you an idea of which NX batches were built at Scarborough. Scarborough originally had production lines for E200's only for some time, but in recent years also now builds E400's to offer additional capacity within ADL. Only coaches are still badged as Plaxton. The E200's / E400's are now different whether they come from Falkirk or Scarborough, just a Scotsman or Yorkshire man has put them together etc
