Title: Falcon travel
Post by: j789 on February 17, 2015, 09:11:07 PM
With the latest operator soon to try the 11 route out, can anyone tell me anything about this operator who ran on the route in the mid 90s? I remember going on a school trip to Sarehole Mill in the mid 90s and catching one of their buses on the 11 route (a National). Don't think they lasted long but did they run any other routes too?

Falcon Travel operated on the 50 with Leyland Nationals for a few months in the mid 1990s, I think after TWM had purchased Your Bus.

I seem to remember that they may have operated on the 15 against Lea Hall garage Lynx

They never ran the 82  that was Thandi.
They did also run the Pershore rd & has been said the 15.
There main problem was they chose routes with competition already on the, the 15 had little red bus & serverse on the 17 the 11 also had serverse & the 50 had your bus. When money ran short corners were cut & maintenance dropped leading to scruffy looking buses & drivers doing whatever they could to get money. It was owned by the same family that now own sandwell travel.

I remember all the various incarnations of Thandi i.e. Transol, MBC1, Rest & Ride + others etc always used to ply the Dudley Rd services for trade i.e. 82 & 88. Unless that photo of AYR324T is an 882 service?

To be fair, back in those days. there weren't that many services that didn't already have competition on

Looks like B82 to me mate not an 8 unless they have three types of roller blind fonts on each roller....

With what looks to be a 9 behind it if that helps at all.

Falcoln Travel ran the 47 along the Pershore Rd, alongside City Buslines who ran the 45 and operated out of the yard now occupied by Green Bus.
