Title: Moor Street Q'Way
Post by: Nathan4775 on May 15, 2012, 03:40:59 PM
I was in town today and I must say Moor Street is coming along really well,

The real point to this topic are two things:

1. Will there be new bus stops
2. Will it be entirely buses only

I don't understand what they're trying to achieve.

It will look nice when its finished though, but i dont see the point in changing it all, all that needed changing was Bus stops and Roads  ;)

I last went to Birmingham City Centre just before the 31 started terminating at New Street. Obviously it got changed back again, but that shows how long. I'm guessing it's changed a lot then?

Hopefully at the routes that stop on New St, will get a stop on Moor St, that would be very useful

By roads I ment Bus lanes, This is causing disruption to Bus Services

Well in the meantime it undoubtedly will cause some disruption, but once finished, and Moor Street Queensway becomes a dual-carriageway road, then everything will be much better.

Moor Street, Bull Street, Coporation Street will be buses only  ;D ;D

Only the top-end of Corporation Street (between Bull Street and Priory Queensway) will be vehicle accessible, no buses will stop on Corporation Street.

While Road works take place Corporation is CLOSED to all traffic but that City Centre connected doesnt tell me where the buses will terminate :(

Unfortunately for some reason, they've removed the link to the Map page on that site, which shows current bus route stopping points, as well as future stops after the changes.  Guess they're busy revising it, as originally they had the Corporation Street junction closure down as in June.

You'll have to sit tight and check that page for updates.

I think this change will all be terrible. Why do people from South Birmingham have to have their services moved for the bloody Metro which doesn't even serve us. That's my honest opinion, which I would think many passengers have.

I think services like the 89, 120, 127/8 are being moved to serve the Bull Ring and New Street, so it's great for sandwell services  :)

From what I remember seeing, the 120, 127 and 128 will terminate at the Markets on Upper Dean Street, then come back via New Street station on St Martins Queensway, then via Suffolk Street Queensway to Broad Street.

The Stratford Road services will eventually terminate at the new Moor Street interchange at Carrs Lane.

So Carrs Lane will become the Omnilink corner.

As well as Geminis and Tridents. They'll be the only buses you'll see there then? Perhaps the rare Enviro 400 or Volvo B7RLE. It would be nice if the 50 terminated there.

the 'Perry Barr' services will also be going up Carrs lane, so plenty of Enviros

Excellent, it'll add a bit of variety. Presumable the services will be going the current wrong way of Carrs Lane, well the Stratford Road ones anyway. That'll make a good spot for photographs when they are going around the bend to Dale End.

Well most of them aren't Stratford Road and Perry Barr services. Even if you're right, you've just ignored everything else said above as usual.

The 35 and 50 don't operate along the Stratford Road.

35 and 50 are not Stratford Road services.

The others may use Moor Street Queensway but won't stop there.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the 35 to terminate where the 45/47 terminate (after the changes), because they both run along Pershore Street.

Were are Moor Street Q'Way Routes going

I assume they're terminating on Moor Street as well, it makes sense for the Deritend routes to just turn around on Moor Street like they did the last time Moor St was being changed.

Kind of makes sense, So therefore Albert Street & Dale end will stay the same
